Hi Jon, welcome to MIP. You'll find alot of good sobriety here, and wonderful people to help support you. We can't replace meetings, but as yu can see by the posts, we all check in and out during the day. I ended up doing rehab also, and was so anxious to get out, until I got to the door--then I was scared witless that I couldn't do it without living in a structured environment. I hit meetings every single chance I got, found a good sponsor and a home group I loved, and everything was okay. You'll hear from lots of folks here, and again, welcome to the board. Chris

Hi Jon,

I'm Dan, an alcoholic living in northern (currently very frozen) North Dakota.  There are definitely lots of friendly, helpful folks here.  It is not a replacement for face to face AA meetings, but is really a GREAT addition to anyone's program.  (kinda like icing on the cake!)

Welcome to the board.  I look forward to hearing more from you.

Hi Jon!  I'm Tim, alcoholic.  Welcome to a great site and congratulations on making it through rehab without quitting.  Been there and I learned a lot about this disease and myself.  I hope you enjoy your sobriety as much as the rest of us are enjoying ours.  This place is good to come to and read the messages and inspiring postings that everyone throws out on a daily basis.  I find it tremendous "preventative maintenance" .  I hope you do also...Tim

Hi Jon,

It's good to meet you. I'm Carol, an alcoholic from UK. I pop by here several times each day and read and post as much as I need. There is so much wonderful support available from some really great people here.

It's not the same as face-to-face meetings, but it really helps me. I go to two or three AA meetings each week; I have a sponsor and I'm working the steps.

When I first came to AA, I used to inwardly scream when folk said 'it really does get better', but it does get so much better. My life is vastly better now than I could have dreamed it would be.

I look forward to getting to know you better.

Take care,

Carol
