I know this is out of nowhere, but I've been wondering about some people who just sort of dropped off, and I remember some neat shares from TLH, in Hawaii I think it was? Anyone heard from him? Kspear is another one that has been quiet. Hey, you guys out there?????? I miss some of the "old" people's esh (not chronologically old, Phil, i know you have a smart aleck answer to that). I think a big 6 month reunion party is in order. Phil, you send out the invites, I'll bake the cake, who's up for hor de vours?????

Sheesh, Phil, I get all googly eyed just going into Seattle, cannot imagine what I'd do in a city the size of Chicago! I'd be afraid to get off the train--one step in the wrong direction, and it would be years before they'd find my poor old bones under some stairway, down some forgotten tunnel, my hands clutching at my backpack, four unlit cigarettes dangling from my jaw, and a hastily written will leaving all my CDs to Sunny. That last will shall specifically say "My death is due to Phil who, though he claimed devout friendship, psychologically shoved me to my demise and didn't send me with enough lighters".
Now, feel bad enough to drive out and pick me up? Nope? How's about greyhound?
PS: Due to the rampant rainfall the last three days, tonight THE SALMON ARE RUNNING UP THE STREAM!!!! YAAAAAAAAY.

Just being a dork for a bit. Doing what I don't want to do, not doing what I really want to do- that kinda stuff.
Kind of flattering to have my own topic. Let's see. Been drinking- cant really lie about that. Been thinking seriously about selling my house and folding up my company, spending some time dealing with myself and maybe going back to school. Been really thinking a lot about that.
Been agonizing over going to meetings. Dunno why that's so challenging for me. Just is, I guess. Or something.

When you pass thru Sac you can pick me up. I live just a few miles from I 80.

This is all good. I hate flying, but I have a reason, actually. I might have actually posted this a while back- I don't remember for sure.
I was on this:
I actually don't hate flying so much as I hate landing. Worse than that I hate landing in the water at the end of the runway. Landing in the water off the end of the runway makes me a little tense.
O.K. Here we go. Either Bob or I will rent a motor home for us all (we split the cost). TLH flies into S.F. from Hawaii. Bob and I meet you three, and anyone else in the area who is interested in going, somewhere in the S.F. area. We travel from there in comfort, switching drivers as necessary. I can cook (food) on the raod...done it before. We're there in 2-2 1/2 days. Well???...Tim
P.S. The landings are much better in SFO or Oakland TLH.
P.P.S. I think we should stay at Phil's for a couple of months and enjoy the East coast. Then, if we can still stand the sight of each other, drag Phil out West on the return trip for a couple of months. Maybe ship him off to the islands from there....Just a thought...Tim

sounds like a lot of fun to me! im saving my change in a jar marked "adventure with american alkies" ! it would be so great to meet so many of you face to face. l love this idea! wait i just remembered, phil is canadian, but what we call a "flatlander " i believe. lol.
OK Guys and Girls, here's how we would do it! If all the folks on this thread really wanted on the AA Road Rally Caravan, it would take at least two RV's (or several VW "Love Busses"). All you folks in the northwest (and Hawaii) would have to get to San Fran. From there, you start the "AA Love Bus Brigade" on down I-5 to the vicinity of Bakersfield, then jaunt over to Barstow and hit I-40. Along the way, you pick up the "Soberheads" from So. Cal. Once you're on I-40 the "Great 21st Century AA Love Bus Road Rally Cross Country Caravan" begins.
TLH bring that guitar I see on your avatar, and I'll bring mine when I fly from Bismarck, ND to Oklahoma City where I'll jump on board. Everyone be sure you study the lyrics from the Allman Brothers "Ramblin' Man" (and any other travellin' music you want to sing on the way).
I-40 rolls from Barstow through Flagstaff, AZ, Albuquerque, NM, Amarillo, TX, Oklahoma City, Little Rock, AR, and Memphis, TN, where we jump on down to I-20 in Birmingham, Alabama, scoot on over to Atlanta, GA, and then slip on home into the driveway of Phil's condo in Columbia, SC. "AA Heads" can just jump on board all along the way.
Man! It's been a couple of years since I road tripped like that!!!
