I know...it's been ages since I've been here. I have so much going on in my life...but let me first tell you that I just got my 9 month chip on Monday! YAHOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I have to share with you something about that chip. I've been waiting with bated breath for this chip. I didn't really know why it held such anticipation for me, but out of all the chips I've gotten thus far, this one was the one I had been lusting for! But I've figured it out now.....it just came to me today. 9 months is what it takes to grow a new life. I've been pregnant 4 times...and have 3 children. Each experience was amazing, brillant, and life changing. At the end of those 9 months I birthed my baby and stared in awe at what had been created inside of my body...this little person...full of life to experience, memories to create, and a million things to do. Totally unjaded...totally vulnerable...totally mine to hold, love, grow, and cherish. Wow! What a GIFT! I love each child of mine more than life itself. I'd do anything for them...I'd lay down my life for them. I'm so grateful that God blessed me with them...that despite all my bullshit, He knew I would be the best Mother for them.

So this is why I cherish my 9 months of Sobriety. Just like in the same way I gave life to each of my babies, I have given birth to a new life for me.

I'm so grateful!

In other news, I began a diet...well actually, I don't call it a diet because it's a complete lifestyle change, much like my Sobriety. See, 5 months before I sobered up I had been losing weight...I had lost almost 35pds but then proceeded to gain back 21 of them when I sobered up. I realized last month that I have been eating like I drank....TOO DAMNED MUCH! So, since Sept 10th, I've been keeping my daily calories between 1200-1550 and exercising 6 days a week and have since lost 13pds! So between that, my kiddos in school, my AA Program...I've been buuuuuuusyyyyyyyyyyy!!! BUT, i think of you all often!

Hugs to you all and wishing you all another 24!

Dana

Hi Dana,

Congratulations on your 9 month chip. That really is great. Thank you for sharing what it means to you. That was lovely to read. It's also great that you are on a lifestyle change. I have recently started that and I'm feeling so much better already.

It's good to see you posting again.

Take care,

Carol

Wonderful Dana, congrats! Yes, it really is just like the life cycle, isn't it? Good going, and i'm glad that things are going so well for you. I just spent some days with my youngest, and you know, not only was it a great breather from home, but it was a renewal for my heart, too. I still get the same love pangs when I look at him now, at 21, as I did when he was a baby. They make living such a joy. Thanks for checking in, hug, Wren
