I borrowed a copy of the big book from my friend today.it was given to her by her mother who is an alcoholic.i am going to start to read it when i go to bed.i am not sure of what to expect but i hope i can get something out of it like everybody else seems to have.
When I first got my copy of the big book I found so much relief in it knowing that I wasn't alone with my alcoholism. I took a great deal of comfort from that. Also, my favourite reading is p58 'How it Works'. I loved the opening words and I still do. The big book proved to me that I could live a wonderful life one day at a time.
I'm so pleased that you have a copy of it. I also read from 'Living Sober', 'Daily Reflections' and 'Twelve Steps and Twelve Traditions'. It all helps me.
Take care,
Carol

have to say I agree with Ryan on this. When we read those 164 pages, we do find ourselves in there, and for the very first time, understand that we are not alone. This Part of the AA Book, is what has changed hundreds of thousands of lives, for it feels just like Ryan said, it is written just for us, to see that one fact, we are not alone, and Recovery can begin.
