Family Deaths

Hi everyone,

I haven't meant to be neglectful of the site or message boards lately, but I have had to be due to two deaths in my family that took place last Sunday.

Two of my aunts were murdered in Fort Myers, Fla.  September 10th, 2006.  It appears that one was killed at approxiately 3 pm, and when the other came to visit her at approximately 7 pm, she too was murdered.  This happened in the first victims home and the home was set on fire in an attempt to destroy crime scene evidence.  The sheriff's office has a very general description of a man someone saw leaving the house around 7:30 pm and one of the aunts car is missing, but has yet to be found.

These two woman were my deceased mothers sisters.  Aunt Pat was 62 and Aunt Judy was 64 years old.  The fire and the bodies were discovered when Aunt Judy's daughter went to the home in search for her mother.

This has really emotionally tore up my family, especially one of my sisters who had just visited both aunts in fla, (from Va) less than a month ago.  I went to my brothers house, for a few days and then had my sister come to my home in Wilmington for a few days to help her get through this tragedy.

Police have not released the autopcy report or even the bodies as of yet, or much of any other information they might have from their investigation so we are all waiting to be informed of the results and take care of funeral arrangements still.

It has been a very rough week.  But I'm doing fairly well in the mist of it all, and hanging on to many of the simple slogans, sayings, prayers, and principles that I've learned to apply to every day life issues and problems to the best of my ability.

No amount of recovery can make a blow like this any softer, but the recovery methods of dealing with it all sure stops it from getting any worse.

Yours In Recovery,

John F.

Please just know you are being prayed for in a very sincere way tonight, and in the days to come, you and your family.

Thank all of you for your kind and warm words.  Here is a news article on the with a basic outline of events surrounding their deaths.  Other than what you read here, the family really doesn't have any other information either.  Police are keeping the exact cause and any evidence out of the news, and even from family.

I'm just doing what I can on my end which isn't much, but offering a reward for any one that can provide police with a tip that leads to an arrest and conviction.

That's some really horrific stuff to happen in one's life. I'm glad you are getting through this sober!

Just when I think we are a sick bunch stuff like this happens to let me know how blessed we are. It's because of things like this that I don't read newspapers or watch the news. It saddens me to see how cruel this world truly is.

I will say a prayer for you tonight John.

Take care and God bless.
