Woke up at 4:30 this morning just like I always do. Go downstairs, grab some coffee, and head out for my morning smoke. I'm sitting down and I hear voices from across the street. My neighbor and her boyfriend are out there having a heated argument for God knows how long! My neighbor is the one who goes to the bar every night, along with her boyfriend.
Got me thinking. Do I miss drinking? Not today!!!!!!!!! Do I miss having a girlfriend? Not today!!!!! Haha! LMAO!
Life is good today and the less complicated I keep it the better things are.

Just for today I'm going to try to be stupid enough to be teachable!
One of these days you will turn into a genius like all the rest of us. then you can rub your chin and nod while sipping coffee. Only problem about sobering up and being to wacked out to handle a relationship is after a while even ugly chicks are hot if they are friendly- uh- just like when drinking...let me refigure all this, Ill get back to yall. Thanks for posting as you did. It reminded me of all of the dreadful arguments that I used to have with my boyfriend the morning after a bad drinking session. I would promise, tearfully, that I would never do it again. But, of course, I always did.
Thank you, Justin, for reminding me that I have so much to be grateful for today. I'm going to try to be stupid enough to be teachable today, too. Instead of my 'keeping it stupid, simple' and I'm going to try it the other way!!!

loved this Post, it has been so long since I have heard any two people yelling or screaming at each other. Awe the quiet, and how much I cheish it.
You add the component of Alcohol to the Picture, and wow, Amen to what you said, the last time I felt angry at someone was two nights ago, at midnight, when they woke me up, (I cherish my sleep hours) vented in a clear way, no yelling or screaming, just a clean message of "Why couldn't this wait until 8:00a.m.??". If that is as bad as it gets, then I will stay with that.
Sobriety, changes EVERYTHING, in time. And I love the changes, when you really look at all the Blessings that it brings us, there are no negatives to be found. It is ALL for the Better.

Justin- What a sobering reminder. Unfortunately, when drunk I sometimes used to be like your neigbors. Oh, and then forget what I was even fighting about. YUCK!

My thought on this subject: When I first got sober, had so much work to do on myself, decided that men and dogs were optional in my life. So far I have chosen dogs.

soberdrunk - K. I. S. S. Keep It Super Simple - we don't have to be stupid to keep it simple. That is what I had printed on the back of my one year medallion. Except the engraver put Keep It Super Simply. Well I look at it this way - I definitely have one of a kind.
Wandajf - I totally agree with you by replacing men with pets at least pets don't cheat and manipulate you. Here in Canada we replace them with polar bears and they live outside all winter. Just my share at this moment in time.
