Yesterday, I got a very big surprise. Tim sent me an email saying he was going to go look at my new Puppy, and wow did he Surprise me. I had told him he lived in the same town, and out of the Blue, he went over and took these adorable pictures.
Tim, I am still just feeling amazed at this wonderful Gift - from the Bottom of my heart, Thank You!!!!
The first Photo is of Tim's little Darling, Miss Pia
AA is a wonderful Fellowship and your posting has just underscored that again.

Hi Toni, This is what this board is all about, sharing our highs and lows, and this is a definite high!!!! To paraphrase the big book, we are not meant to be glum and unhappy, being excited is great, and sharing that excitement is what life is all about. He is just tooooooooooo cute, when do you get him?
Boy, is your life about to change!!!! I know when my pup was 5 months old I rescued another shih tzu to keep my sanity, Believe it or not, two dogs are five times the fun, and half the work. I guess I am a "dog" lady, can't imagine my life without them, they bring such joy.
And they give me something else to be greatful for when I am having trouble counting my blessings. I also think that having someone to take care of helps to center our lives, it is so easy for us to get waaaaay to introspective. It is better to think of someone or something else and how we can help than wallow in ourselves. When I get in one of those wallowing moods, I try to do something for someone else, even if it is just pick a bouquet of flowers!! I know when I first got sober, I was trying so hard, and it was tough, and so I would make soup for my elderly neighbors, had a spell of 6 months or so where they got a lot of soup. But, it helped me to keep from spiraling down into those nasty funks. We talk in AA about doing service work, and it can be taking care of your neighbors.
You know, I take my dogs everywhere with me, they would rather sit in the car and wait for me than stay home. I even take them in the carts in Joannes fabrics, and I meet the most wonderful people!! Welcome to the wonderful world of dogs!
I am soo soo happy you are getting to know your little one, even before he arrives. What nice people we are blessed to have here!!
I wish i could take my baby girl with me into stores... she is just a little too big for Joanne Fabrics, unfortunately... :o(
But we do go to the Pet Stores and also she comes in the corner gas station with me all the time. As Wanda said, they really do keep us centered. And they are so darned easy to please!! kinda humbling!!
