Hi! My name is Tim and I'm an alcoholic. I'm new to this site and think it's a great idea to have meetings online. I'm not new to recovery though. This is perhaps my umpteenth time of attempting to get and stay sober over the last dozen years. I sometimes think that I'm really just an incorrigable drunk and destined to meet my end in an alcoholic stupor. At other times, life is wonderful. I don't know. I just wanted to say hello and announce my prescence...Tim

My name is Carol and I'm an alcoholic. It's really good to have you here. This board is a great place to be. It really helps with my sobriety and I have made so many truly wonderful friends here. I pop here several times each day and read and post as much as I want. I do hope that you will, too. It's a great help in between AA meetings for me.
This is my second serious attempt at AA and this time something really is working for me -sticking with it, taking it one day at a time this is the longest period of sobriety that I have ever enjoyed.
Take care, won't you, Tim?
Carol

Thank you for the warm welcome. I have a week today after a short spell "out there" and I'm feeling good about it. Helped my friend/sponsor put in a door at his house yesterday and we had a good talk. Just what the doctor ordered. It's great to see the enlightening and eye-opening quotes that are posted here. I do hope to contribute some help to others in any way I can and, like Carol, expect to be popping in several times a day. Take care all and great to make your acquaintance...Tim

I relapsed tons of times before recovery started to take hold, not that I would recommend relapse to anyone!!
Keep coming back, go to meetings, get a sponsor, take the 12 Steps. Reach out to other alcoholics on a daily basis, ask HP for help in the morning and thank Him at night.
And whatever happens, try not to pick up that first drink. Keep coming back no matter what.
