If what you are doing is not working, take a moment to stop and take a
look at what you are doing and, if necessary, take another path.
--Jan Ruhe

"Our greatest glory consists not in never falling, but in rising
every time we fall."
--Ralph Waldo Emerson

When it is time to die, let us not discover that we have never lived.
--Henry David Thoreau

I can get more out of God by believing Him for one minute than by
shouting at Him all night.
--Smith Wigglesworth

"I can choose to sit in perpetual sadness, immobilized by the gravity of
my loss, or I can choose to rise from the pain and treasure the most
precious gift I have - life itself."

I have been walking through some grieving stuff this week, and trying to honor that, but it can get confusing, where do you draw the line, for me this morning, it involves making a Decision to set it aside, and move forward with life and all the wonder in just that fact.

First thing that comes to mind is Sunlight, God's light, Prayer, and Meditation, asking for Help, and waiting on that help.

Don't really think we I can appreciate the glory of simply standing in the Sun, and having a talk with a friend, without first walking through some darkness, where there are no friends to be found.  I do not believe there is any darkness that God's light cannot pierce.....and so life, just being life, goes on.

God Bless,

Toni

My rising after failin, is something like baking bread in an oven...

Some days I leave the oven door open...and it comes out as a pancake..:)

You feel how you feel....youre human...just like the rest of us kiddo...

There was a time when we didnt give a shit how we felt...just pour me another drink..to hide it all.

You have a good weekend....

Wren and I are still trying to find you a boyfriend...

Thank you for those quotes, Toni. I am so sorry your pain is welling up again at this time. I admire your ongoing search for treasures among thorns. You are so right about the sunlight. I could never have dreamed of such peace before I have walked through dark dark times. You are an inspiration to me, and thank you.

...and not all of us need or WANT a boyfirend... I will take my puppy and kitty any day of the week!!

Love,

Jonibaloni

I'm glad today is better for you. I know, I know how rough it is. Waiting for those clouds to part, and realizing that they will as soon as you let go.

Wren and I, Phil? I wont touch that dasterdly plan, LOL. I figure the last thing any of us need is some poor guy trying to incorporate themselves into our lives. Well, maybe a rich one, eh? I think cats and dogs, like Joni, are better companions for some of us. I know my cat likes me more than my husband does most of the time. And if she doesn't, she can't tell me, so my feelings don't get hurt. Never had to hit a meeting cuz a cat messed with me. Do you have pets Phil?  hugs Wren

Hi Phil and Joni,

Can only speak about it when I am looking "back" at it.  The Gifts of Sobriety are the saving Grace, we are Powerless over Alcohol, and then we discover, that we are just as Powerless over everything else, that does exist in this world, outside my own body, mind and Spirit.

Complete solitude does not exactly feel like something that is welcome, but as I have heard, and experienced many times in my Sober Life, at the Center of our Pain, is exactly where we will find God.

And Phil, if you do come up with a boyfriend, please have him fill out an application, and send it to me with a full Resume.  And just like you see in the papers sometimes, you might add, ONLY the EXPERIENCED NEED APPLY! (Will need about 20 Sobriety, and have a license to practice  Couples Therapy as well.  HA HA  Take as many years as you want looking o.k., I am in no hurry, and also make sure he likes little tiny dogs, I am looking into buying a English Toy Spaniel Puppy. SOOOOOOOOOOOO  cute, she will be a little female, so there will be competition!

See you both later,

Baloney Brains Laughing again,

P.S. Chris, I agree, I think the sharp edges will be gone, just as soon as I locate my new little darling.  When Annie was around, remember that feeling SO well, she was so much more of a Loving companion that either of my husbands.  Nothing personal Phil,  just Women talking to Women.  One of the absolute greatest memories of Annie was that when I left the house, she never looked at the clock and interrrogated me with "Well, when WILL you be home?"  TaTa you guys, have a great Sunny day.

Toni, I know that when I've been getting home (doing some part time work at a medical office for a few weeks), Sophie not only doesn't sit there asking me what's for dinner, but she doesn't ask me how much I spent, either. Once you connect with the little one that you choose, I bet your heart will just sing and dance. I say, Celebrate Hard Floors!!!!

Phil? You say you do tricks? Say, my Murphy has been lonely since we lost Kaycee---thought about being a companion? LOL, I keep the house clean, and a nice clean fiber bed. Big yard...just a thought....Love Wren

Hi Phil,

Just a question, why does she keep the 4 x 4, ???

Good Sport Phil, I agree, this can get addictive, was suppose to be off about l hour ago.

Progress not perfection,  thank God we always can just slide home on that one.

And Chris, so happy to hear about the part time job, what a blessing, I think I need to do that one too,  Work is so good for the Soul, takes me up and out of the Me's.  And yes, I did that, I finally  did Let Go.

Hope everyone has a good, late but good day,

Toodles, Toni

Toni - to answer your question about the 4x4.  That is all we drive in this place called Ontario.  We need them in the summer to get through the mud and the winter to get through the icebergs so we can feed the men that are in the dog houses to the polar bears.  Sometimes we replace the men/dogs/cats/fish/turtles/reptiles and any other pets with polar bears - just for the winter.  ROFLAO

Later - Jeannie

Got someone for you Toni. Sent him your direction. Hitchhiking. Asked him why not the bus, he mumbled something about 'homeland security'.

Thanks for the thought,  but have ordered a puppy today, so won't be looking any further.

Thanks so much, but if either one if these guys are spotted in San Diego, I will be moving down to Mexico, in record speed, or faster than you can say Holly Molly! I mean Holly Mucho Molly,ROFLMAO
