I was looking at some lovely pics posted here yesterday and it got me to check out a few that I have taken recently. The first one is a sunrise taken close to where I live. The other four are of a favourite forest walk of mine. I walk a fair bit and it helps me to relax and focus on my recovery.
Anyway, I just thought that I'd share them with you all. I hope you like them.
Thank you sooo much for sharing those!! I truly get 'lost' in other people's pictured of the outdoors. I find myself so fascinated with different lands... the english countryside is so lovely!! I love how your foliage and trees seem to just 'ramble' with the hills... and the mist... so beautiful. Your grasses look almost bluish to me... are they legumes?
I have the travel-bug so bad lately. After our trip out West, I am going to save to maybe come to europe or somewhere new and far away... I have distant relatives in Sweden...
Thank you for sharing your walk with me this morning!! In the sunrise pic, is that the Channel or the Atlantic?
I know what you mean about getting lost in other people's pics of the outdoors. It was when Dana posted a few of her camping trip yesterday that made me think of looking at what I had.
To be honest I don't know what a lot of the plants are in the forest (being born in a city!), but I'm going to have to get a book and discover all about them. As you can see, it's such a peaceful spot and I can really connect to my HP when I'm there.
In the sunrise pic, that's looking down The Solent out towards the English Channel. It's one of the busiest waterways in the UK.
Take care,
Q

From a person that has lived in only Urban areas, City of San Francisco, grew up there, and even thought it was a city, it was an wonderful city to be in.
But am in awe of anyone that lives so close to Nature and all it's endless beauty. Cannot grasp the tranquility that you must feel on a daily basis. City living, never really gives you that, freeways, shopping centers, everyone so busy going, and doing. Busy, Busy, Busy, is best description of that. That's why we city folk have a stonger need for more meditation, haha.
I use to think of the UK as a busy place too, and have received quite an education, with yours and others photos of what a glorious place to live.
Thanks so much for all of your feedback to the pics I posted. That was a lovely surprise.
I'm very lucky where I live. It's very close to the New Forest in Hampshire. I live almost next to the sea with the forest about a ten minute walk for me.
I was recently diagnosed with osteoporosis and walking is good for my bones. That was what made me start to take up walking in the first place. Having lived in a large city for twenty-two years the countryside is still a place of great beauty and magic for me.
It's always a peaceful place to be and I can connect with God and my HP. Walking is helping to keep me sober.
Take care everyone,
Carol

Yes, I live just outside Southampton. It's a great place to live with the New Forest right on my door. I am spoiled by the beauty of where I live, and by the peace, too.
Take care,
Carol
