I just realized that I had used this term in a previous post, in jest. I truly hope I didn't hurt anyone's feelings by it. Around here in AA, we call eachother 'old farts', when we have 10 years sober or more... it is used the same way as "Old Timers".... funny thing is, some of them are still in their 20's....
In Contra Costa County, CA. We called oldtimers, Grumpy Old Geezer (men) and Salty Old Broads (women). There we these 3 old gents at the Concord Fellowship Sunday Mourning Speaker meeting who always sat together at the end of the same table and we called them "The Three Amigos".They had like a century of recovery between them.

Gosh, Joni, I'm trying not to be too crushed by being an old fart. It isn't easy being wrinkled and having flatulance y'know, but, hey, we'll get thru this. One day at a time...Together. Wren
IT'S A JOKE, JONI....

I think in the 12 and 12 they can also be called a bleeding deacon? but that is only for a certain type, not all old folk
bleeding deacon n. a person who believes himself indispensible to a group, esp. a person who becomes so over-involved in a group’s internal management, policies, or politics as to lose sight of its larger goals; (hence) a person with a negative, moralizing character, who acts like the sole source of wisdom
