The Let Go Poem

To let go does not mean to stop caring,
it means I can't do it for someone else.
To let go is not to cut myself off,
   it's the realization I can't control another.
To let go is not to enable,
but allow learning from natural consequences.
To let go is to admit powerlessness, which means
the outcome is not in my hands.
To let go is not to try to change or blame another,
it's to make the most of myself.
To let go is not to care for,
   but to care about.
To let go is not to fix,
   but to be supportive.
To let go is not to judge,
but to allow another to be a human being.
To let go is not to be in the middle arranging all the outcomes,
but to allow others to affect their destinies.
To let go is not to be protective,
it's to permit another to face reality.
To let go is not to deny,
   but to accept.
To let go is not to nag, scold or argue,
but instead to search out my own shortcomings and correct them.
To let go is not to adjust everything to my desires,
but to take each day as it comes and cherish myself in it.
To let go is not to criticize or regulate anybody,
but to try to become what I dream I can be.
To let go is not to regret the past,
but to grow and live for the future.

To let go is to fear less and love more

You all have a good day....

That's a DOOOSEY, Phil!!

Shared it with AlAnon friends!!

Thanks!!

How's Canaduhhhh holding up these days?

Been fishin'?

Used to live in Seattle, WA.... fished for steelhead salmon... never caught any, though. My dad is a semi-pro bass fisherman.. I guess I didn't get the 'good fishing gene'???

His fishing motto is "Luck is optional"..... LOL

Howdy Joni and Jeannie..

That poem is used in Alanon...am in that program too...

It sure helps this alky some days..

Fishing? Used to...not much spare time any more...Lotta salmon in this area also...Big fishing derbies, 3 hours north of Niagara Falls...brings the sportsmen up, in droves from the US..

And Canada is still holding up....but melting fast.:)

Those pains Jeannie....I can only share from experience..

Emotional pain...mixed in with worry, anxiety...trying to control things I cant...growing pains....not accepting...greif......Knot in stomache...used to have em..big time...hyper tension..you name it..

When they got bad enough I had to look up..Big time..and let go...

Still can get them today..sometimes....but am aware..and just put it all on stop in a hurry...

I also agree with everything Wren shared...

Have a good one....Poof!!

It never ceases to amaze me how God shows me exactly what I need to see right when I need to see it.
