Chock full of nutrients (including iron, magnesium and B vitamins) and antioxidants, beer fights cellular inflammation and may prevent chronic diseases, concludes a new Austrian study. Drinking a glass a day also lowers your risk of developing dementia by 20 percent, according to The New England Journal of Medicine. Other studies have found that beer reduces hypertension and the risk of heart attack. "Its alcohol content helps raise good (HDH) cholesterol 10 to 20 percent, and inhibits blood clotting," explains Norman M. Kaplan, M.D., professor of internal medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.

One of my favorite lines I like to tell fellow Alkies, "If an average of 2 beers a day makes you healthy, I've already had enough to live about 120 years!"
well it doesn't surprise me that beer or even wine MAY have good qualities, ...i heard that one glass of wine can help the blood?? lower cholesterol???? however for some, it is a death sentence......
i guess the makers of these beers have to have their say as well........and its my choice to take what i want and leave the rest.......
it was amuzing though, thanks for passing this along......rosie
Yeah, I try not to demonize alcohol or pot smoking for "normal" people-
A drink or 2 a day, a few days a week, might be healthy, for those who can stick to that- Just like eating 2 or 3 servings of fruit might be healthy. But if every time you try to eat fruit like a normal person, you stuff yourself till you throw up and your blood sugar levels get toxic, then you'd obviously be better staying off the fruit altogether-
