How did you build your asset management system in practice?

I'm currently revising my company's approach to asset management and have realized that while theoretical models may sound appealing, reality works differently. I'd be interested to hear from those who've already taken this path.

We took a very practical approach to asset management https://www.novacura.com/ifs-modules/asset-management/ at our company. We first conducted a thorough audit of all existing resources and processes to identify areas where efficiency and transparency were being lost. We then decided to implement a system based on a platform that allowed asset management to be integrated with the ERP without disrupting the current workflow. We chose a solution that centrally tracks all assets, their lifecycles, and technical condition, with convenient tools for maintenance planning and reporting. We found the platform's deep customization to suit our processes and integration with external systems particularly valuable. The results exceeded expectations: information search time was reduced, unplanned downtime was reduced, and management received transparent asset performance indicators.

It is interesting to read how everyone has different approaches to building an asset management system. In our company, it was also quite a long journey. We started with an audit of current assets, then realized that without a good CRM and process automation, it would be difficult to manage when there are many departments and many data points, as it is very difficult to compile everything manually. In our case, we used several tools, including integration via Zoho Flow, which helps connect CRM with other applications and automate data transfer between systems, greatly facilitating real-time asset management. One example of such working integrations can be found here https://www.customerization.ca/zoho/zoho-flow/ It really helped us achieve process transparency and eliminate manual data transfer.
