When Stillness Feels Impossible

Hey all, does anyone else struggle with stillness? Even when I try to rest, my body and mind feel restless. Im curious what helps when slowing down feels almost uncomfortable instead of relaxing.

When stillness feels uncomfortable, it usually means the nervous system isnt used to slowing down yet. Forcing calm often backfires. What helped me was supporting the transition instead of jumping straight into silence. I found helpful perspectives on Amanita Universe https://amanita-universe.us/ , where people described easing into calm with grounding support. Some mentioned dried fly agaric because it gently reduces internal agitation without sedating you. I noticed that once restlessness softened, stillness stopped feeling threatening. Combined with slow movements or quiet sitting, my system learned how to downshift again instead of resisting it.
