Happy week!

Hi everyone,

Hope you all had a good, sober weekend.  I had a quiet time.  Did some gardening, played with my kids, went to a movie, dinner at the in-laws.  What a "normal" life I have now.  I love it!  I always thought sobriety would be boring, and when I first came into the program I was a bit bored.  That was only because I had not learned to enjoy life without obsessing about drinking.  Now I am really present in my life and able to do what I want to do.  So many great plans were wasted because I was drinking or hungover.  Now I feel like I can do pretty much anything I want to.  Active alcoholism is very limiting.  Looking back, it was not much fun at all.  Life is much better for me now.  Thank you to everyone in AA for that!

I think I'll keep coming back!

Have a great week!

Good Morning,

And yes I also had a Great week-end, Cooked this Huge meal for a friend of the family, spent 3 hours in my kitchen, picked some beautiful bouganvelia from my garden for a flower display, made him exactly what he wanted for his Birthday, and his LOVED his Gift. and the dinner. I made it HIS day, big celebration, when he walked in the door, sang HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TO HIM SO LOUD, MY NEIGHBORS probably heard.
What a kick that was.

But what a Joy, that I have in my life, when I forget me, and make it about making someone else happy.

Could not do that in my drinking days. Maybe the intial thought would be there, but a hostess, that had slopped up the entire dinner, and was now sitting passed out on the Couch, Yicks, when I think about it. Feels like I am talking about someone else, almost, except that I'm pretty sure it was me. (Smile) Yep, I am sure.

Anyway, living a Sober Live for all these years, it just keeps getting better and better. Live being Life, things do come up and take away our joy, temporarily,
but they go back to feeling the Gratitude of just being alive, for the first time really,
no alcohol fueling me any more. Amazing Grace.

So happy you had a wonderful week-end with you family,

And I was going to point to the clock, and say "Tick-Tock, Tick-Tock" but I changed my mind, haha.

So good to see you here, and did you see a woman by the name of Terri come in last nite, she did not make a post but is in a Response, and I sent her a note about Posting, I sure hope she got it so we can get to know her.

Hugs Dear,

Toni
