Quiet Somber Holiday

Hi To all,

Just crossed my mind that this week-end was a long week-end for most of us. And I do remember wishing many a happy holiday. I was thinking (well that's not always a good thing). (Smile)

This is a Holiday, honoring all that have given their lives, for this Great Country that most of us here, are so privledged to live in, that saying Happy Holiday, was really not an accurate statement.

During a quiet meditation today, I was feeling so much Gratitude, first to my Higher Power, that I choose to call God, and then to the awsome Program of AA, to the good friends, I have made here in my new area in this Program, and to this Board, and the truly wonderful people I have met here in John's MIP Recovery Forum, and today, I was including the privledge of being alive and living in this great country that has been my home all of my life, that I pretty much take for granted. Not today.

My hope is that with this Holiday Somberness that I feel, that I be able to keep
that privledge alive, and included in my Gratitude Lists that I begin my days with.
A good lesson was learned, inside today.

A Thank you to all, each and every one, for your Tremendous Courage and Bravery and Honor, that have given their lives, so that we may live free, as well as all the beloved Veterans in this country.
