Hi everyone. Just checking in.

All ok, having a great week, back at work and it's busy.

Just started going to a different meeting. After my last slip, I decided to start from scratch and went to a 'beginners meeting'.

12 members with 140 years of sobriety between them.....beginners???

Great people though and not too much of the forced religion that has put me off some other meetings.

Still amazes me, sitting in a meeting in front of a group of total strangers, them telling stories, it's just like hearing a stranger telling me my life.

We are all different but the symptoms of the desease are the same no matter where we are. Alcohol is non-discriminatory.

Alcohol will not care if you are Male, Female, Hetro or Homo. Alcohol will not care what religion you are or how much you earn. Black? White? Green hair? Alcohol won't care, it's just out to destroy.

Hope you all have a great day.

Best wishes

Chris.

Just got to nod my head in agreement with your post. I'm glad you found another good meeting.  I know what you mean about permanent beginners. There are a few reasons why a person would still be in a beginners' meeting,,,  1. could be slipping, 2. could be avoiding going to Step 4 with its personal responsibilities, 3. could be there 12 Stepping and being humble, instead of bragging about how wonderful they are , 4. could be that they go to a meeting every day, or even 2, and that is the one that is a good one for that time.

I'm glad you're plugging away there.  do your best and God does the rest.

love in recovery,

amanda
