Got through it without a drink.  It sure felt good this morning.  Now I am working on Day 2.  I will try to keep that in my head, only today, and not jump forward like I tend to do. Your comments and advise are helping.  Just reading the different posts helps me keep in mind what I need to do.

No, I haven't met anyone that I felt comfortable approaching.  I'm going to check out some meetings in my area and see if I meet anyone new.

Hi Alice,

So glad to see you here this morning, and so happy you are going to be checking out other meetings, I do not know your age, my sometimes for me, finding a common thread of age, helps, and some of the Newcomers Meetings have a real good Energy to them, usually have a lot of new people, and then a handful of people that have some time, thats been my experience.

So what every you find, I just hope you can find a "comfort" zone in a good meeting somewhere.

Looking forward to hearing back from you, just wanted to say hello and how good it was to see you back here.

A Big Hug, Toni

This is as you said, just a 24 hour a day, Program, and so happy that you felt good about doing it for 24 hours, thats all we have, past is really gone, and the future is not ours to know, So, God Bless you Dear, and I will be thinking about you in your
first days, and watching you watching them, grow. (Big Smile) even thought I just completed some Dental Bone Grafts, that were so scary, and you know what, It is never as bad as what we Fear, at least for me. And I thought I had work thru the Fear, HaHa, (Famous last words!...... out of me today) Now the healing begins.

SO GLAD IT IS JUST OVER With.

love to you,

Your sister in Recovery, toni

My personal philsophy when I decided I would rather be dead that drunk again,
ASS in CHAIR, EVERYDAY, don't drink in BETWEEN, I Prayed so hard for that,
and It Worked.

Love

I think the spirituality that the program gives us is most effective when we work it one day at a time. I look at a problem that I seem to be worrying about and I have to ask myself "what can I do about it today" and 9 times out of 10 the answer is nothing. I do this alot, the whole reminding myself bit. It helps to keep the brain functioning better!

Glad to hear that you are still sober! Keep posting!

Toni,

Your words are very encouraging.  I know, for me, I need to find someone mature with a fair amount of time in the program and lots of wisdom.  I am working on getting through today and it is a little more difficult than yesterday but I don't want to go back so I am going to take it minute by minute for the rest of the day. I hope you recovery is quick and you are feeling better soon. Thanks.
