Abit of a sureal answerphone message from my mate..

My best mate (one of two) Daniel goes out most friday and saturday nights and gets drunk with his mates at the nightclub or pub...  Hes not an alki.. if he doesnt go out he doesnt drink and never drinks during the week..

Anyway hes abit different to most people, prob why we get on.. Known him since i was 4 1/2.  Anyway the day after he goes out he always phones me up and leaves detailed messages on my answerphone of his nights adventures.

This is what he said in his first two messages, bare in mind he doesnt know im an alki.

“While we were queuing up outside the night club this actual alcoholic bloke was walking past and he was like talking to a few people, sort of thing.  He was actually drinking a can of strong larger... Like the stuff you sort of drink like Skol Super or whatever.  But he had a carrier bag with all these other cans of larger in it.  You could tell he was an alcoholic cos of the way he looked, sort of thing.  He had a red face, long beard, long moustache and long hair and all that... ya know the look of an actual alcoholic.  He started talking to us, my mate spoke to him for a bit and I spoke to him for a bit but not for long.  Then this alcoholic bloke got this actual harmonica out and started playing it, sort of thing... then my mate said “that’s pretty good actually” and got a pound coin out of his pocket and offered it to this alcoholic bloke, at first the alcoholic bloke refused it at but my mate insisted he take it and eventually the alcoholic bloke accepted it went on his way.  Then we went into the club"

Iv not real point to make with this post.. Just that it was abit sureal.. ya know, my best mate talking about this "actual alcoholic bloke"...  And that he was drinking the same sort of larger i drink..  Daniel knows i get drunk most knights but doesnt see me as an alcoholic.

I guess its kinda amusing in some ways... Hearing my mate talk about it in that way..  But i did wonder if the guy went to aa etc..

Anyway...

I got a txt from my dad today said hed caught a 1/2 lb Flounder.. .. For those who dont know, thats a flatfish from the sea..  Damn it i should have been there with him.. nvm..  Mum has said i can borrow her car to go to the lake if i want so i might do that at some point... if things go ok........

I hope everyone is well.  And thanx for everyones comments.  I am reading them..

the people around us love us and it's just hard to want to look at someone you love and want them to be an alcoholic...plus it has alot to do with them having that trust for you.

i mean when you have trust and love for someone you just dont analyze their behavior your guard is down.

but yes i see why you feal like its surreal....

but all that ever realy matters in this program is to know the truth with in yourself and be responsible for things...and i learned it was then that i got a grip on the issues at hand...rigorously honest ....with yourself

so heep on the path and know what you know and do what is right for you..

not that this was your problem just wanted to support your awareness to yourself and the willingness to do something about it and to keep it up.
