Well here in Canada the sun is shinning, the birds are singing and it is going to be a very warm day.  How is the weather for everyone else.  Just curious and interested.  Just to let you know Canada is not as bad as Phil makes it out to be!

Here's a thought that might interest you (it did me).

Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work.

I have found this program to be hard - and working at it I have also had more opportunities knocking at my door than I could possible imagine.

Today is a great and sober day for me - how about you?

Up, dressed, fed and ready for a very busy day at work.

Have a great, clean and sober day everyone.

Later - Jeannie

Morning Jeannie...

The weather?  Well..up here on the hill..we are closer to the sun eh..so its really hot....the singing birds are sitting outside in a tree...above, 2 white cars...that used to be white...if yu get my drift..

And the Program?  Its a simple program..for complicated people....somedays I can just, make it difficult. Usually when I dont wanna accept things I cannot change..:)

Its got tools though.. that will fit any nut...and tighten up a few loose screws..all we gotta do is, reach into the tool box..

There are still some days...I cant find the tool box..and the..brain malfunctions...Then..again...there are some days...the cells,  that one has left..take a vacation..and one becomes a space cadet...

Could be worse tho eh?

Not waking up on someones lawn...wondering what town, I'm in...and who I proposed to last night...

Gotta be grateful....have a nice day...and if you need any taxies at the store...I'm sorry...the drivers, are out to lunch.:)

Hi There Jeannie,

Well I can recall you telling me you were getting ready to walk out the door and walk to work, with 2 ft. of snow and fighting the 20 mile an hour winds. HOW GREAT to hear about the SUN and BIRDS SINGING, and the warm temperatures.

You might enjoy this (Just a little) here in California, in the most southern part, we have not seen Spring yet, cold and cloudy, Most of the time. Really strange weather for this time of year, but I am trying to ignore it and stay busy. But it does feel weird to be putting a heavy sweater and and jacket when I am out, it is usually 50 degrees in the morning, but feels a lot colder.

No complaints really, am now really "Planted" in the Program here, have some friends, and feel at home in this new area, that was so much more important than whatever temperature it may or may not be.

So good to hear you doing so well, sounds like you made it through the "monster" 4th step. We had a great discussion yesterday at a Step study meeting on the 5th step.

I love all the steps, but that 5th step is the one that eluded me for so long.

And it sounds like you made it through to the 5th step, and further on to the all of following. Good Work.

God Bless you and when I am out today in the cloudy weather, I will think of you with all your sunshine, and try to borrow some.

Have a great day!

Toni

And yes I agree, OPPORTUNITY, does seem to have the word "work" attached invisably to it.

I can relate to the opportunity being dressed up in different disguises and all. Once we get sober it's a lot harder to let opportunity pass us by. Learning to grab on to the good thinks in life and hold on is sometimes difficult for me. I feel it is my duty now to become a member of society, meaning that I need to hold a job, pay my bills and not break the law. I used to always think that I needed to drive, even without a license, in order to work. This is a tough one. I could be making a lot more money if I had transportation, but I kind of like my job and the hours and all. It allows me to get home early, spend time with my family, and make meetings, not to mention spend time on the computer!!! Hope work goes good for you. Oh yeah, almost forgot, The weather here in Illinois is cool, cloudy, and it's supposed to rain for the next few days. Take care.

Thanks everyone for all your input - sorry to hear about the bad weather in other parts of the world.  It is nice to know though.  We are expecting nice weather for the next few days.

Had a great day at work - rode my bicycle to work - not even a 10 minute ride to work as opposed to a 25 minute walk.  It sure beats walking through 20 foot snowbanks and minus 20 degree weather with a wind chill factor of minus 30.

Just returned from my home meeting - had a wonderful time  - there were three birthdays - it was a fun time had by all.

Must get some sleep now so I can get up tomorrow and do it all over again but only with a brand new day.

Later - Jeannie
