Two months!

I've made it two whole months without a drink or drug. It's kind of hard to think positive about this because I've celebrated two months on three other occasion. It's all about what I can do differently this time to ensure that I don't fall back into my old ways. Life isn't perfect but it's a million times better than when my actions were being controlled by substances I put into my body. Oh well, time to get ready for work. Coffee, cigarettes, food.........I guess I'm ready! Oh I almost forget the daily reading out of the 24 hour book is really good today. No time to post it. Have a wonderful day!!!

There yu go buddy....Keep on pluggin....one day at a time eh?

A.A. Thought for the Day

We're so glad to be free from liquor that we do something about it. We get into action. We come to meetings regularly. We go out and try to help other alcoholics. We pass on the good news whenever we get a chance. In a spirit of thankfulness to God, we get into action. The A.A. program is simple. Submit yourself to God, find release from liquor, and get into action. Do these things and keep doing them and you're all set for the rest of your life. Have I got into action?

Meditation for the Day

God's eternal quest must be the tracking down of souls. You should join Him in His quest. Through briars, through waste places, through glades, up mountain heights, down into valleys. God leads you. But ever with His leadership goes your helping hand. Glorious to follow where the Leader goes. You are seeking lost sheep. You are bringing the good news into places where it has not been known before. You may not know which soul you will help, but you can leave all results to God. Just go with Him in His eternal quest for souls.

Prayer for the Day

I pray that I may follow God in His eternal quest for souls. I pray that I may offer God my helping hand.

Good Morning Justin,

Wow, when I read that it was hard to believe it was only 2 months. The words from that beautiful song come to mind, "Amazing Grace, how sweet the sound". You are truly a Miracle. We all are.

Phil Posted the Thought, Meditation and Prayer for the day, out of the 24 hour little book, (thank you Phil).

"We are powerless over Alcohol -- that our lives have become unmanageable" The 1st Step, and the Surrender to that Step, with everything inside us, the surrendering of the will, and ego, and self will run roit, is how it bagan for me.

This is a 24 hour a day Program, so for me that translates into, the surrendering of that ego and self centerness, the isms of this disease, is what I need to do, everyday.

As one of your fellow Recoverying Alcoholics, it has been so great to watch the Process in you.

In my first year, it was a pre-occupation in me, how am I going to be able to keep this, I had gone back to drinking so so many times, and why I remained sober, the answer to that question, I do not know, but I believe I had little to do with it, it was God working in my life, after years of defeat, with that ego and self-centerness.

On my 1st year Birthday, is when I personally began to relax those fears, for I believed in my heart, God was IN my life, working the Miracle of Recovery, helping me, and saving me from a horrible end to my life.

That little 24 Hour Book was my guide, everyday, all day long, I would take it with me to work, find a private place and reread it many times.

Still cannot tell you how it happened, how do you explain a Miracle, you cannot, all I could do is Thank God for the Blessing of helping me, and the Program making me feel everyday, that I was no longer alone.

If there were a 2 month Chips, I'd send you one.

It is such a pleasure to watch you and how your Higher Power and the Program are working in your life.

A big Hug my friend, Toni

Right on Justin! How good you must feel! What a wonderful inspiration your story is to others. Having someone like you to watch as they work and progress is so good for the rest of us--I know how good it is for me. Such a miracle. Thank you for sharing this progression, love Wren
