Acceptance

I have to accept everything as the way it is suppose to be at this moment.

I need not fight or express my opinion unless I choose to do so.

If I choose to open my mouth there may be consequences. I will never agree with everything and not everybody will agree with me. Just the way it is.

I choose my battles carefully today.

I'm not a door mat. I live according to some principles, at least 12 of them.

I try not to impose conflict.

I accept everybodys opionion even if I don't like it.

What are the slogans***live and let live**easy does it** If I can't slow down to look at someones opinion.

The grouch and brainstorm are for more suitable than me.

I learned to walk away instead of fighting to death.

I guess I don't like conflict in or outside the rooms.

What is this board getting to be ??????  Or is it me ?   How about the promises and the WE part.

I guess it will be what it will be.  Maybe WE should all act as if were grown up.

Just a thought

Being an alcoholic does not mean I must accept the unacceptable. As stated I am not a "door mat".  I am earning my right to FEEL my FEELINGS........ the grouch and the brainstorm may not be suitable, but I have earned the right today to be these things if I so choose, as long as I do not hold onto them for lengthy periods of time.. doesn't mean I'll drink, just means I'm FEELING.....

Thanks, Rick...... Awesome post.......

The New Serenity Prayer

Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I cannot accept, and the wisdom to hide the bodies of those people I had to kill today because they pissed me off.

Having an opinion about something is different for being "Opinionated"

Everybody's entitled to their view of the world, but trying to push one's opinion at all costs onto others, strikes me as not very humble.

An opinion tempered by a bit of modesty is a lot more welcome and thought-provoking than the alternative.

You never hold all the facts about everything, so how can you be so unequivocally sure that your opinion is the Right One?

------------

Just something I dug out of the cardboard box...

Makes sense to me...but thats just my opinion. (Smile)

We all have a right to our opinions and feelings,,  but not the right to be abusive to other people. We are also supposed to be learning how to THINK, and recover from stinking thinking that drove us to drinking. Letting emotions run rampant and get out of the control of our better judgement,,  if we have any kind of wise judgement is one of the causes of abuse.  "I was sooooo  angry! " s/he said to the judge.  "I was soooo in love!" Being slaves to our emotions is not exactly a sign of good mental health.  So,,  fine to feel emotions,,,  it is what we do with them that is important... and to abuse other people is not justified,,  ever.

Walk the walk, don't just spew the bullshit

stinking thinking is not ALWAYS what drives everyone to drink, for some, that comes later when the disease has taken over........

a little BB reading needed, me thinks.........

Taking my inventory, Doll?   No mention of your own?  at least balance it. I have read the BB a few times in 18 years,, there are some meetings that are only on the BB.

It is said that...  drinking is only a symptom...  and it is the stinking thinking that gets us to drinking in the first place, second place and last place....    and we can dry out,,  but that is not the same as in recovery.

Now,, as for your inventory........   take it.

love in recovery,

amanda
