Hey all- weekend update

Thought I'd drop a line here to say hello, wherever you may be!
I hope you are having relaxing and fulfilling weekends.

As for me, I am well. I just finished a fifth step with my sponsor- I have done one before, but I think he gave me some new perspectives- Like I often muse that if it were not for my picking up drugs and alcohol and becoming an alcoholic and addict, I would have had a hugely successful life and been a decent person- But my shortcomings were glaring even before I picked up- my rules and priorities were pretty much based on self-gratification with little concern for hurting others or myself in the long-term.

Other than that, I have been working, going to six or seven meetings a week, hanging out with AA people- I think we're going bowling or to a movie tonight after the meeting. And I'm enjoying eating well and exercising, though not pushing myself- I think people often leave out the physical aspect of recovery, and I think it's as vital as the spiritual and mental- It's all connected after all-

Take care,

Joel

Hey Joel. Great stuff happening to you. Awesome!!!.

Yep! that's what they tell  me, mind, body spirit. Gotta take care of them all, if one is neglected the rest fall short.

Hugs, Doll

Hi JB,

Good to hear you doing so well,  loved what you wrote, and felt a personal  over due little kick in the butt, regarding Exercise.  Sold my Treadmill when I moved. (Bad idea). Need to get another one.

Those Steps just keep coming eh?  Now that we are no longer frightened by them, we do them as process for living.

As far as the physical stuff, I feel a little like a person I read about in a morning joke, "This man says to his wife, 'when my time comes, I don't want to be left in a vegetative state, with liquid being given to me, out of a bottle'.  So When that time comes, JUST PULL THE PLUG!!!!

With that, his wife stood,  Poured out his beer, and unplugged the T.V." A chuckle, and something for me to ponder as I sit in this chair Way TOO much.

God Bless and have a wonderful Day!
