I'm reading everything you all write. Getting to know you all...I've 8 days today,,,after a two year run..Had 6 DRY years in AA before that insane thinking took me for a joy ride..My main problem was I worked my program,,not Bill's God given program, and decided to skip step 4 and 5. I also couldn't find what I figured was a trust worthy sponsor.

I now have a 25 year sober hardcore but likable Sponsor, who I actually have been calling. Thanks...Oh yea PS...  GO BUCKS!!!

Good day to yu Buck. And yes...I identify with yu...had a number of days in AA too...thought I had it made...everthing was going my way...then--the sheet hit the fan, and was dispersed unevenly..all over the room.

I mighta notta had a drink in many many days....but I worked my program, and not the AA program. There are no softer ways---still can slide backwards....its a daily thing-no matter how many days we been around. --we are human buddy...thank God we arent perfect eh?

The fourth and fifth step---bout 6200 days, before I hit a bottom,,where there was no choice.

"Humble" is a big word...gotta keep it taped to the front of my mouth...which can still...automatically open...before putting 2 brain cells in gear.:)   Keep on Truckin!!

Well Hanuman

My Family roots Mom and Dad are from PA...So I always liked the Pitt Stealers...Nuff football thank you all for your comments,,,and nice to meet you all...

I do notice that most of the members are new...Hope that don't mean they don't last,,

Not to be morbid,,,but I know I have to stick with this program  or die

In our small town of Circleville Ohio this summer 3 AA members took their life. The third yesterday was a 12 year AA member,,,I have to take this program serious,,,but also relax.

I have a very addictive personality...and this program can't be force fed,,to me that is,,,Slow and easy....

hey, just to let you know,  anyone can click into this site and read all the posts. The program is an anonymous one, and that looks like your real pic and your hometown is a small one. Seems to me best to not put up your real pic,,  the rest of us are using avatars and gallery stuff...    well.. most of us..  but also a real pic without the name of the small town is harder to pinpoint..  so, please..  might you put up a different pic? not that your not a handsome guy,,  and be very careful about the personal information shared on public sites.

That said,, welcome to the forum.

Hi Dave,

I also live in the midwest, where it's true (as Amanda has mentioned) that we may tend to let our guard down a little more than folks from the urban world.  I live on the windswept tundra of north central North Dakota, where a lot of folks still leave their doors unlocked when they are not at home, and leave the keys in the ignition ('course, that is actually a necessity when it's 25 below zero, and you have to warm the car up for about 10 minutes before you can drive anywhere!)

Also knew who the Buckeyes are, and had pretty much guessed that you were from the Buckeye State.  Hate to admit it, but the closest I have to a football team are the Vikings (who actually freaked us all out by beating the Packers in their first matchup this year!)

And, this is my second run at sobriety, only I did about the opposite... had one year sober, and then 7 years of attempting "controlled" drinking. There's a laugh!

Keep coming back, there are more regulars than you might see at a glance.

A friend in recovery,

Dan
