Hi All. Hope you are all well and sober. I've not been here much in the last couple of weeks because I've got a start date for my new job. I've had to do a lot of research.
I resigned from the job in the PVC door factory because life was hell there. Same thing 80 times a day.
Got a job as an undertaker starting on the 1st Nov. Driving cars, cleaning cars, carrying coffins, enbalming, etc. Can't go into too much detail due to the rules of confidentiality.
It was the PVC patio door job that finally turned me from being a normal drinker into a raging alcoholic. Hopefully the new job will help in the recovery.
I will be back here. The cause may be gone but the problem is for life.
Love you all.
Chris.
Ps: For Americans: Undertaker in the UK is a Mortician in the US. For anyone else ???? No idea!

Hey Chris, Glad you checked in, always great to hear from you.I don't quite understand, going from doors to dead bodies, had you already gone to school for the undertaker career?I know you have that fasination for skulls....anyway, I'm glad there are people in this world who like to take care of the deceased.
Glad that the interview worked out, and that you are into a new profession. No more making windows to look out on this dimension. Now just tidying up from those who jump through the window into another dimension.
Is that heavy (or just me talking nuts) ?
PS. Haven't been in a job yet that didn't make me want to drink.
Doll: I've seen the 'Undertaker' in action, I don't have the body for that sort of thing!
Gammy: In the US, School is required for the career. In the Uk all I need is a clean criminal record. I do however have a Degree in human biology. I may have to stop smoking though, I don't want to be coffin all the time! The hair is green at the moment, but I'll be dying it brown again before the job starts. Wedding is on the 29th December.
Sick of being sick: True, I'm hoping I wont have to deal with too many suicides though. I've worked with living people for most of my life, dead people are far less stressfull! They never complain!
Phil: It's not a dead end job, but I will have to have a grave look about me!
On a serious note though, the job will be a new challenge for me and a chance to gain a professional Qualification (membership of the British Society of Embalmers).
Got to go.
Bye for now.
Best wishes
Chris.
