Grateful I found a Higher Power, who I call God, who loves me unconditionally unlike some of the people in my world.
Grateful that through working the steps of AA,I was able to find out who I am, what made me who I am, how I could improve on me ( not try to improve them...),I was able to let go of the past, and to mend some estanged relationships.
Grateful that my bottom was not as far down as some others I have heard about. I did not lose my family, I gained a son, who is now 19 years old, through my sobriety.
Grateful, that today I can take a personal inventory each day and if I have a problem I can recognize it and ask God to help me to work on it.I have a group of people who can also help me in the process.
Grateful that I have learned acceptance, tolerance, and love for my fellow man, anywhere I go.
Grateful that I can accept life on lifes terms,I don't have to self medicate with alcohol or drugs,to feel happiness or sadness. I have experienced the death of my father and granddaughter, and didn't have to drink to kill that pain, I got to feel what I was suppose to feel as a living, breathing human-being.I also got to celebrate my daughter getting married, the birth of my first granddaughter, and my unbeleivable 50th birthday party, sober. I remember each wonderful moment .
Grateful that today I can put my arms around another person and just let them cry, not trying to fix them. Also that I will allow others into my world, because for soooo long I was unappoachable and distant.
Grateful that I can look at my world today and the postives always out weigh the negitives. The sun came up, I'm still breathing, and God is God, and He is good all the time.
Grateful that by the grace of God I am here, sober and living for today.Grateful for the hand that is always there to reach out when I stumble.
Hi Gammy. Congratulations. 20 years! Wow that's fantastic! Hope I can manage the same!
Best wishes
Chris.
