My name is John, and I just joined. My sobriety date is 1/2/07. I was just looking for a meesage board that was more AA oriented. I have 3 (2-6 and 1-13) children and a wife that I am grateful not to have lost, because of my drinking. I am so happy to be sober today even though as you could emagine my house is very excited about the next couple days. Still though this is my first christmas in many years I have been sober. Any way good to find ya'll.

Hi John, Welcome!!!! What a beautiful way to start a New Year! Congratulations on a year of sobriety. Hope you'll stick around. Been here 3yrs (actually 4 if one counts preposting). Feel free to share......you are among friends. There's always something new to learn. Wishing you the best of Holidays and blessings in the coming years. Learning/Wanda
I have an old friend from VA with your name. I haven't talked to him in awhile. Glad to hear that you're grateful about your familey and excited about being sober this holiday season. Don't lose that feeling. Welcome
Welcome to the site John! Tim, alcoholic. Aaaaaand...A very Merry Christmas to you and your's. Those ages are great for Christmas (well, so is mine!) as I well remember with my own. Enjoy it all the more with the FULL knowledge of what is occurring. Don't make yourself a stranger around here, but part of the ever-growing family...Tim

Thanks for the welcome. It is nice to find a place that we can talk AA with out worrying who you will offend. I hope everyone is having a good christmas eve.

Welcome to you John and a very Merry Christmas!! This is a wonderful site full of inspiration. I hope to see you post often! Enjoy those kids!! My hubby and I go to my cousins house every Christmas Eve just to enjoy watching the kids open presents. (as we have no children of our own). Anyway, Merry Christmas to all! Allison
Welcome to MIP, John. Really great to have you here. I love A.A. with a passion. I am not always obvious or vocal about this & sometimes I can be nonchalant & blaise about my need for it as I meander through my life thinking I'm for the credit of everything great in my life when really deepdown I know tis only granted as a gift & nothing to do with my input at all. I know this doesn't quite fly in the face of God helping those who help themselves though on some level it may seem so! We do get what we give but ultimately we have no real grand control over that. If we give out good & get good back then that is fortunate but if things come back in a way we find painful or not quite to our liking then that's just the way it is too. At the moment I'm going through a new level of acceptance & I'm really glad there are people like yourself who have a fidelity & faith in what I'm coming to believe in everyday too. Seemingly by proof of experience & interpretation ;) May you be blessed. It's great to have you amongst us. Danielle 01.10.06 Liverpool, UK.
