hmmm, we've all been there, but i guess it's my turn- again.
i have a love/hate relationship with AA!!!
but it hasn't done me any harm at all- i've been sober for a while now, but my meetings have gone down to a minimal amount as of recent.

it's probably just a phase, but sometimes the negativity in the rooms can leave me wondering why i bothered going in the first place.

aaargggghhh!!!!

plus xmas is round the corner and everyone and his pet tarantula is looking forward to spending the festive season on his back, recovering with an alkaseltzer.

gotta get things into perspective!

hmm

Yep! I can identify with that! There's about a handful in my homegroup that are always whining and crying about the same thing they were last year, and the year before.  BUT, they've done nothing to change or accept it. I find myself wanting to scream at them to go have a drink (not nice of me!!) Instead, when they share, I usually close my eyes and repeat the serenity prayer till they're finished. Then I say "thank you, God, that's not me!!!"

What slogans are appropriate  for this ---

This too shall pass.
Take what you need and leave the rest.

Hang in there.

too true!

if it isn't that women there going on about her son...
or that bloke boasting about how great a business man he was before he retired...

yes this too shall pass!

going through a massive spiritual growth phase at the moment- loads of obstacles. i've just got to make my life bigger than the problems which i see before me...

I know, it takes allsorts doesn't it but I remember that if it wasn't for that open forum I wouldn't have felt safe to share & moan when I needed to too so tis all about the gratitude & remembering that I have a head that can turn such into negatives too so I use it as an exercise to watch & train my thinking. Take what you like a leave the rest. Also, if you're in a position to, you can share & help shift the mood to something fulfilling for yourself. We get back what we give & I always have more patience to  listen to others no matter what their stories if I've dealt with & got rid of my own stuff. Self~centered to the extreme lol I'm glad you're here, Senor. We'll listen to you no matter what day it is. Happy sober day! Danielle

quoted for truth,

you'll find more serious memebers at step and morning meetings.  whiners usually don't work the steps or get up that early smile

ha ha!!!

i'll maybe stick to the more 'specialist' meetings. i mean it's good for me to see people straight off the drink, but for me just not drinking isn't the solution.
