I have been sober for 4 months from alcohol. But....... there is a minor drug I did not give up. Well it is conflicting with my program so it has to go bye-bye. It saddens me as I really like it but I will be a better person because of it. I have extra motivation from my Mom. She bought me a beautiful cross with 90 Days printed on it! I had to be honest with her and she understood. So she is going to hold the cross for me until I get an honest 90 Days. Here is my plan: This Saturday, DEc. 8 is a very special day! It is my daughters birthday and it is my wedding anniversay. So I am quiting on the 7th and make the 8th also my sobriety/clean date. So this would triple my meaning for Dec. 8. I say whatever works right? I mean I WANT that necklace bad!!!!!! I am gonna work my butt off to get it too! See we are determined if there is somethin in it for us! LOL Hey, Im not well yet but I aint sick anymore. I know the truth and it is high time to tell the truth! So there, I have said it! Am I crazy? Love in the Fellowship of the Spirit, Allison
Been there, done that. I didn't drink for 3 years on the marijuana maintenance program. But I didn't have any real recovery so one day I got thirsty and a month later I was as bad as ever. Even though Beer is my drug of choice, I had to get clean in NA, "We are people with the disease of addiction who must abstain from all drugs (including alcohol) in order to recover". Then I came back to AA where I have more in common with my fellow drunks. But I heard a stupid old fart tell a fellow during the break that alcoholism isn't an addiction, it's a allergy and an obsession. I felt like telling him that that sounds like the definition of addiction to me. Anyway welcome to AA. Bob.

ditto... I would not judge you, not for one second. Kudos on getting it all out in the open, and into the sunlight. That is a terrific way to start a recovery, and the holiday season as well, with no hidden baggage.

No judgement here, Allison, only pride for your honesty & making of another great fresh start. 'Today' is always a great day for new beginnings & that's exactly as you're preparing for. Get your head right & the rest will follow so doing all good things will work towards that. You're doing Fab & I'm glad you have such a great gift to look forward to. The necklace sounds beautiful too ;) Have a happy sober day, me dear. Danielle x

Started early on my plan. My brother got out of prison today and knocked on my door. He got out because he was accepted to a 2 year program in NC. He doesnt leave until Tuesday and has no where safe from drugs/alcohol to stay until then. So I am letting him stay here. So needless to say I threw away the pot I had left and that's that! No more. My sobriety date will be and will remain till death December 8. Thank you all for your support. See doesnt God work in strange ways? Everyone asked me today, why dont I stop now and I didnt have a good reason and along comes one right to my door step! Gotta love it! Love in the Fellowship of the Spirit, Allison
