Attitude is everything!

Today will be what we make it. Regardless of the weather, the kinds of work to be done, the personalities crossing our paths, we'll feel joy and peace if that is our choice.

Agonizing over circumstances that aren't to our liking or dwelling on our failure to control other people, whether friends or foes, has robbed us of the happiness that is always ours to experience. Depression, anger, fear, and frustration shadowed our steps because we didn't take control of the only thing that's ever been in our control absolutely - attitude.

It's so easy to blame others for every wrinkle in our lives. But as we grow accustomed to the idea of taking full responsibility for how we think and feel, we'll be empowered. No longer will our sense of self feel diminished. And, as Abraham Lincoln is credited with saying, we will be just as happy as we make up our minds to be.

Nobody can mess with my attitude but me!

A Life of My Own by Karen Casey.

Hi Carol! Happy day to you!
I am totally amazed at what just happened! I responded to Doll's daily reflection exactly what this post is saying to me today! I do have a choice to have a great day no matter what today!! IT'S ALL IN THE ATTITUDE! I have an interview at U of Michigan today and am nervous as heck! But, I trust there is a plan for me. No matter what, I have to trust in my HP that he knows what path I need to be on! I guess I cant question it,,,I just need to believe in it! Today, I will have a positive attitude. I will make this a great day no matter what comes my way!!!! You do the same!!!! Lani

Hi, Q. Thanks for the post. It was a nice surprise & reminder given I've been trying to practice this new quality. I've got a few sticky things in my life at the moment (& woke up with spots!) but nothing life~threatening or deeply painful. My exflatmate moved out owing  me £90 for the phonebill & my job finished so I'm now down to part-time hours so I suppose it's a bit of economic insecurity & frustration with a person doing the shitty with me. I think I'll have to quit my driving lessons for the moment & keep life simple while I figure what my wages are going to be like. My courses over the next few years will be expensive & I got a call from the Tony Robbins team hoping to get me on board in Jan for a £400 seminar which I'd really enjoy the experience of but I have to be careful in spending. Not big problems really. Just annoying & I know I have a choice today on how annoyed I get. My happiness can very much come from inside despite anything external. It is all about attitude & I know the people that I've always admired in life have been those with this magical quality of an optimistic outlook & comfort during stress. I used to admire them & think 'I couldn't be like that' I'd get far too freaked out & think that if I wasn't getting upset then whoever was bothering me was getting away with it. I know I don't have to suffer regardless today & that's a nice freedom. Thanks for sharing that post. Also, it's really great to have people in my life that I can sound off & turn it around with too. Thanks for being here. Good luck with your interview, Laurie. Above all, enjoy the process ;) Danielle x
