I'm Crystal and I'm an alcoholic and a drug addict. Never hit an AA message board before, so I thought I would give it a shot and see how it works (no pun intended, of course). Glad to be here!!
HI Crystal. Welcome to the ether-madhouse. You're so not anonymous, BTW. But hey- beautiful website.
I'm Toby and I'm an alcoholic. I have and love my kids (16 and 3) and dogs (dumb and dumber) and pretend to be a writer (but actually I just write a lot- compulsively- we alcoholics are a bit excessive compulsive, some of us- you ever notice that?) I actually build stuff for a living- houses when I have to, cool stuff when I can get away with it- furniture and artsy stuff and the like. I mostly hate my customers and they tend to make me think I'm an emotional punching bag or the sponge of everyone's collective angst but every once in a while we get a gem and my job is liveable.
At one point in time I had never posted on an AA website. It's not so bad though- except you can't sit in the back and look at everyone. But for me, sharing here is infinitely easier than sharing in front of 100 people. I don't hate public speaking but it's certainly not at the top of my list of favorite things to do.
Okay- I'm done. The rest of you can talk. (fingers tapping.........) I hate the time difference.....
LOL. I started using my last name in meetings when I had around 3 years of sobriety. Now .. it's like 17 years. That I'm recvering is hardly a secret anymore LOL.
Your family sounds great! I had all mine after getting sober (they're 10, 8 and 3 now).
You should publish. Since I went Indie, I've ever looked back. Call me a control freak... you won't be too far off LOL.
I'm writing tonight. Taking a break from writing, ironically enough, about an AA meeting to write ona dysfunctional family that makes up much of my books LOL
Welcome!!! You'll find lots of great people on here!! Lani

Glad you're here, Crystal. I'm new to this board too, and so far I am very impressed with the kindness and love the folks here have shared. I check this board several times a day and am always inspired! Check out some of the older pages too. Lots of great info to help you on your journey. Best of luck and keep in touch.
Howdy, Glad your here. This forum, and other similar ones, are great for me. Though I may not login or respond too often, it's like a mini meeting for me. If I can't get to a meeting I can come here and read through whats happening with others. Usually I can relate to most of what's being said.
