Today I really need to eat some humble pie! I have lost perspective on what life really means....When working with my patients I always believed that I was so lucky to have my health, etc. I always tried to  be a happy, joyous person and bring a little  something to their lives. God knows I got back more than I received!!!  Here Ive been whining and carrying on about not having a job and feeling kinda down. This morning I saw one of my former pts in the obituaries. She was only 40!! Ive mentioned here her before. She's leaving behind three beautiful young children!! She fought an awesome battle and is now where shes supposed to be!! (She too, as they all are, was one of my favorites!!) Anyways, today I will be thankful for all that I DO have. My family, my health, faith and AA and try to remember all that is good in my life!!! So thank you all for your patience and kind words to me over the last few weeks. I cant promise but I will try to have a more positive outlook on life!!!
Love ya's!!

I am so very sorry for your loss. A little over a year ago, I lost a beloved aunt to cancer.
She had bore 10 children......and the number of grandchildren was lost track of......plus
there were greatgrandchildren. At the service, each of the children "served a part", some sang, some read, ect. Those who eulogized did so without tears but rather told stories that made everyone laugh.
It was at her home later the real celebration took place. The day of her funeral happened to also be the day of her birth. They had a cake, lit candles (some 80+), and sang "Happy
Birthday". Then they did this remarkable thing. Out of a bedroom came red baloons for
the number of children, grandchildren ect. as well as including her only sister and two brothers (my dad) being one. She had loved flowers. Rather than having beds outskirting her yard she had dug, planted, and nutured her blooms in a bed that was right in the middle of her little back yard. Those given baloons, went to that flower bed and circled it. Her son
said a short prayer and led everyone into "Amazing Grace". The last note sang they all shouted, Happy birthday, Mom!!!! The baloons were released with no particular plan.
Everyone watched as they rose and voices stilled as each was engrossed in their own
thoughts. Suddenly one of the littlest one in the circle broke the silence and said, "Look, look. Grandma's made us a heart." I kid you not those baloons formed the beautiful red heart in that clear evening sky! And everyone started applauding. Yes, her children had
cried...... Yet they also celebrated! And it was one of the most beautiful testaments to life
I had ever witnessed.
May you be blessed to celebrate your patient's life and continue to appreciate the blessings of yours.
Wanda

Hi Wanda: (and thanks Doll as always!!)
Thank you so much for sharing your awesome celebration of life/death with me!! Your aunt would have been so proud!! (My thought is she was looking down on all of you, being proud and happy to see you all together, and I too believe she formed that heart from heaven!!!) It gave me goose bumps to read!! I can almost picture what a wonderful day it was, almost as if I were standing there!! I hope that when I go its the same joyous occassion as it was for your aunt!!!
I actually had a great day and I trust that Gods will is going to be revealed to me soon!!! At least thats what Im praying for!!
Thanks again-you brought a big smile to my face-Lani
