Great day to be in AA

Hi all:
Well, just an upbeat message from me today to share why its so great to be an alcoholic....snicker, snicker...
Yesterday had an interview at my old place of employment, looks promising (at least Im on the ok to hire back list), still havent gotten a call back but waiting... Have an interview tomorrow at 300 at an awesome facility...Great benefits!!
Met 5 other gals at this house on the river for fellowship, meeting and an awesome lunch!!!! We all shared, I got called on the carpet as to whether or not Im ready to commit to this all. They made me share a bit and it was sooo cool! We spent about 4 hrs together. I thought, wouldnt this be great if we were all unemployed and could spend time together like this more often!! Its funny how God works. Im off, my sponser is on shut down, one gal had surgery (old timer, 20 yrs!!!) one is in school...but weird how its perfect timing for where Im at right now. I have to say, very tempted to buy some booze on my way home....But I'll do that tomorrow!!! (That seems to be working for me these last few days)   I know that thinking isnt healthy but One day at a time!!!! Gotta run , pick up kids....love ya all, lanibiggrin

An attitude of

"Not drinkin today....Maybe tomorrow" is a very GOOD way of handling things Lani..:)

Hi Lani

Sounds like you getting soport.......good for you ...the one thing i learned about recovery is dont do it alone ..this is a we program.

What i did wen i was in my early sobriety wen i felt like drinking was pick up the telephone ....somtimes we just need change the way we are thinking ...and it worked for me.

good luck to you

Hi Lani,

I am always amazed at the level of love and support that comes from other alcoholics. How wonderful to know that we are not alone. I know that I couldn't do it on my own.

Good luck with the job interview tomorrow afternoon. You'll be in my thoughts.

Take care,

Carol

One Day at a Time is right....and it sounds like you had a good day. There is NOTHING like connecting with others who understand where we are and where we have been.
