Hi, My name is Kirsten and I am an alcoholic. On September 20, 2007 I took my last drink. I had relapsed approx. 3 months prior. I continue to say, "yeah, that's me everytime I read the BB. I really saw myself today in reading "More about Alcoholism", "Then he fell victim to a belief which practically every alcoholic has-that his long period of of sobriety and self-discipline had qualified him to drink as other men"pg32. "Commencing to drink after a period of sobriety, we are in a short time as bad as ever"pg32. That was me, and NOTHING HAD CHANGED. I was astounded last week when I found my self driving around drinking an open six pack of beer at noon. Thank God for an intervention that I believe saved my life. And Thanks to all of you for your support, and another 24 hours!
Yes, I love reading the Big Book. In fact, it's been a little too long for me since I last read it, so thank you for your reminder. I can always find so much of me and my attitudes in BB and it's great to know that I'm not alone and there is an answer.
Take care,
Carol

I try to read the Big Book everynight before I go to sleep. I've been told that I should never stop reading it for I will find something the next time I read it. Basicly, once I finish the BB I start again.
I read that just the other night, highlighted it AND underlined it.
I love the BB. I've read it from beginning to end twice. Then I'll pick and choose for a while.... It never ceases to amaze me how I can always read something "new" every single time...
thanks for sharing. and thank you for being here.
