Hello group,

For those who haven't had your second cup of coffee my name is Dean, I'm an alcoholic and drug addict, and I live in St. Pete FL.  I also spend a lot of time in Boone, NC working on my retirement home.  I got sober in Northern Va. in '89.  For those in that area, I spent a lot time at the Unity Club in Falls Church.  I signed up (unsuccessfully) about a year and half ago and for some reason couldn't sign in so I quit trying and today I got an email from John inviting me and here I am.   Appologies to John for the  cranky email about not being able to log in.  It was a bit premature.

I hope I can contribute to your board and don't take me or what I write too seriously as I'm often making a vain attempt at humor and I more than occassionally miss the mark.  One other thing my spel chequer is bustimacated and my memory isn't what it used to be either. :happy

Well...Howdy there pardner!!  My name is ..um....hmmm...ohh yaaa...Phil...from somewhere in the middle of Ontario Canada...and a BIG welcome to yu...

I can remember St.Petes...The Scotch was cheap and the hotels were 100 bucks a week...that was a number of days ago...:)

I was just reading the Bill W letter you posted, it was right on time for me being 47. My x was born in Hamilton and so my son has dual citizenship. St. Pete has changed a lot since I got here in '92. Downtown is getting very cosmo with cute little condos and a good number of 30 story condos as well. I live on the west side near the intercoastal. I do like it here, it beats the hell of The DC area where I grew up. thanks for the welcome

Small world Dean....my ex lived in Hamilton, for a number of years, before we got together...
Still in touch with quite a few there...
Im about an hour and a half...straight north..

In touch with quite a few from the Carolinas....and dabble with realestate in that area..nice country....and great AA...

I'm Carol, an alcoholic living in UK. It's good to 'meet' you here. I look forward to hearing your ES&H at some time.

This board is a super place to be and it really adds to the quality of my sobriety. I do hope that you'll pop by here regularly.

Thanks Carol, I'll be in the UK next may for a 10 trip. A couple days in the UK, a day or so in Ireland, and the balance on The Isle of Man for the TT race! I'm so excited. I've been wanting to see that race in person since I was old enough to read motorcycle magazines. sorry I got carried away.

Phil what part of the carolinas is your real estate located?
