Looked at these pics, first thing this morning, and the first thing they reminded me of was the "Remember When Bar Scene"  :)

I drank with a bunch of Turkeys....

Slobbered all over the cute chicks...

Even the ugly ones were pussycats, at closing time...

Waking up in the morning and going "Woof"

What the hell happened??

Some very nice looking stock there. Do you raise them for food or show?...Tim

P.S. We just adopted a small dog, terrier mix of sorts...named him "Booger" for reasons I won't explain here...TE

hahaha  Phil, you're a trip  smile

Tim, they're just pets...   I'm guessing once my chicks start laying eggs, we'll start going to the farmer's market and selling eggs...  bf only has about 15 chickens, and it was just enough eggs for us, and to give to our friends, we use them as bribes for getting stuff on freecycle too  lol  But we'll have more than we'll have room for once all the babies are laying eggs.  Got 5 hens setting on nests now too out in the barn.

I'm thinking along the lines of starting a hatchery...  the polish chicks I might start showing some of them if they meet the specifications, and breeding them to sell.

lol  I don't think I wanna know why your dog is named booger!  I hadn't named my babies yet...  and Booger was a little pain in the  butt, and I'd say "come here you little booger"...  well it just sorta stuck  lol

Hi Lisa! Thanks for the share, I love your pics. Things have changed so much for you over this last five or so months, and it's such a joy when you share it with us. Still thinking school?  Uh, Phil, about when you wake up in the morning and say woof-----have you noticed any DoubleMint gum barking back at ya???

Yeah Chris, things have definitely turned around for me lately,  I don't think I've ever been this happy in my life...  Being out here on the farm, all my little babies, my boyfriend...  and being SOBER!  Life is good  smile

Yes, still planning for school, need to get busy with the financial aid stuff...  I need to call the school I was going to go to and tell them I'm not going there and turn down my grants, and get in touch with Voc Rehab about getting assistance for school...  got my application, transcript, and ACT scores sent to the school I plan to go to, and got it added to my FAFSA...  so pretty much all that's left to do is talking to Voc Rehab.  It's just down to getting enough funding...

But I have no idea how I'll have time for school  lol  Things are always so busy here on the farm...  but my education is important to me, and to my boyfriend, we'll work it out, I talked to him about it a bit already, and he understands I'll have to have time for school work and studying, he won't interfere with that.  You know, being with a man so much older than me, my education is that much more important to me...  if things work out with us...  he's probably not going to be around 25 years from now, I'll be on my own, I have to have my education and be able to support myself...

I was 36 when I went back to school, and then went to work in a hospital that decided they wanted to train me in other areas of the lab, so for a few years there, my brain really took a work out. I was so afraid that I'd done too much damage to be able to "learn" anything, but boy, once you've made the decision things open up like nobody's business. It really did wonders for my self esteem. The age difference? Well, shoot, Ron could pass tomorrow, so it was more for my independance that I did it. I think graduation, at that age, was one of my proudest moments apart from my kids. It was just that I'd done it, really finished something I began. Some late nights studying, yeah, but well well worth it for the satisfaction. You keep on! hugs, Chris

Well, yeah, in any relationship you never know when your spouse will pass on...  but...  with being with a man who is 61...  it's not so much a matter of *if*, but *when*  ya know?  Our best friends have brought that up as well and are pushing me to get my education because of that.  But yes, it is for my own independence and satisfaction as well...  but with going into farming/hatchery, you don't necessarily need a degree, but knowing that one day I will be on my own and may have to work for someone else, I need that degree so I can get better pay.
