Lisa, It seems that farm life is agreeing with you. By centering your thoughts on your "babies" you surely are finding a way to bring about your sobriety. That is a good thing and a positive way to help yourself. When one nutures and cares for other living things it can only mean that "this gift" will be given back. It is certain too, the exhuberance you feel over these animals is as well alleviating, to a point, your back pain. Hope you keep going to meetings. The best to you (and your "family")
Well, the littlest guinea didn't make it... they got too cold last night, we had a light on them, but it wasn't a heat lamp, apparently wasn't enough heat for them... we got them warmed up this morning, and 2 of them are fine, but one didn't make it...
Our friend and her son that got the babies for me, were taking bets on if I'd let anyone eat my turkeys... lol Nope... they're my babies
Here's some of our chickies... Still haven't found the rest of them.
hey Miller 2, After all our pacing and the anxiety of waiting for that grandson that we all went through, don't we get a "peeksy" at the new wee one in your family. Hard to imagine, as excited as you were that that wallet of yours isn't bulging already with photo after photo just wanting to jump out and be seen. LOL How are they all doing? Again congrats. to you.......and Lisa.
Lost another guinea today... my friend took the one we lost this morning back and they gave her a turkey... so I've got 5 turkeys now... and 1 guinea... and she brought over 3 ducks to put in with the guineas because the turkeys were trampling the guineas... apparently turkeys are so stupid they have to have another kind of bird in with them to teach them to eat and drink... lol
But she said she'll trade me her 2 guineas for turkeys if they make it. Hers are doing fine so far. My last little guinea is doing good, I had to put a duck in with him, my roommate said they die of loneliness, you can't keep them by themselves. I tried putting him back in with the turkeys... but we have them in a cage now... and I was doing dishes and looked down and the guinea had gotten out, and our youngest cat was nose to nose with him! caught him just in time
