Cute pics Lisa,
I grew up on a farm until I was eight.  I can relate to those pictures, except we had horses, cows, lots of stray cats, a few dogs, bunnies, ducks all the works.  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Moon,
I'd love to have more animals...  my boyfriend used to have sheep, and he had a really big pig but he doesn't have them anymore...  Sadie's trained for herding sheep...  makes her a pain in the butt, she's a nipper  lol  I told him I wanted goats...  he said if anyone brings a goat on the property, he's shootin' it  lol  says they tear up everything  haha...  oh well.  It's just a small farm, only 24 acres...  gonna build a chicken house to get the chickies out of the barn, so we can use the barn for a shop...  talkin about putting up a building to run farm auctions out of, we're in a good location for it, and putting up storage buildings to rent out...  And...  my boyfriend's thinkin about going back to truck driving this summer...  and leavin me to run the farm
weirdfaceCan't be too bad though, cuz he contracts someone to do the crops...  *shrug*  I dunno...  we'll see...

Holy crap!  It's spring in Nebraska, already!?!  We just got snowed on here in North Dakota today!

I used to live in a house with a front porch a lot like your place, when I lived in the panhandle of Nebraska about 40 years ago.  I had forgotten how much sooner it starts turning green there than here, though!

We're supposed to stay "on-topic"?  Oh great. weirdface

Very cool ranch house, from what I can see of it. Also it's good to see you have all your chicken's in a row. ;)

Well actually let me clarify...

I had ONE bunny, for a few days

I had TWO ducks, for about a week

I also had two parakeets

Every single one of those pets died within the first week hmm I have a spring birthday and I got them all for my birthday at different ages.

Then lots of cows and horses, as well as dogs and cats.

Hi Lisa,

Thanks for sharing those pics. You are lucky living on a farm and in the nicest way, I do envy you. I live near the countryside and we have lots of wild horses which are always wonderful to look at.

Thanks for sharing.

Carol

"If you can keep a plant alive for one year......" LOL, watched it too often when working at the rehab. Once every single month I sat thru it with the newcomers. I loved the ending with the guy in the florist with his dead plant and bulldog crying "I'm never going to get laid".

I had a farm, and I loved those pictures, Lisa. We had a (dare I say it?) goat dairy. Raised milk fed organic pork, about 80 rabbits at a time for processing, I had twenty show rabbits (Jersey Woolies) and bred registered show goats. Yeah, they actually do have show goats--all about top lines, attached udders and good milk production. I so miss my girls. I still have one of my two herd queens here. She's fifteen next month. I've never enjoyed anything as much as I enjoyed that farm. Something about going out in the wee hours and milking, and then again at dusk, it was so settling. It was the only time I had to myself, too. Made cheeses. We also sold eggs. Nope, Phil, not goat eggs. Or rabbit eggs. But, the state needed to widen Hwy 101, and relocated us, and it was just too tough to start up another dairy, so I just kept a few of my girls over the years. Really and truly, the best springs of my entire life was during kidding season. Slept with a baby monitor so I could hear if one of my girls went into labor. Never missed a kidding. Ohhhhhh, how I envy your life style Lisa. Thank you so much for sharing those pics. What a memory trigger. And no, goats, if kept in proper fencing, dont ruin property. Those damned pigs, on the other hand, would root under the hot wire, and I lost count of how many times I chased those little b*****ards away from my rose bushes til Ron would get home.

What topic are we off?

haha...  off topic from alcoholism...  dunno why I put that cuz it's not like we always stay on topic here  lol

No, I haven't seen 28 days, my boyfriend said it's a great movie though...  wonder if he has it...  he has just about every movie you could think of...

Wren, that sounds awesome  :)  I've always had some kinda fascination with goats for some reason...  have a picture of me when I went to Dollywood when I was maybe 3? with a goat, I love that pic  lol  I'd love to have a donkey too...  don't ask why, I dunno  lol  Though, as much as I'd like more animals...  I like the fact that with only having chickens, we don't have to get up at the crack of dawn  lol  The chickens eat when we feel like feeding them, as long as it's not after dark  lol  hahaha...  goat eggs or rabbit eggs?  biggrin  We don't sell our eggs, or eat any of the chickens...  they're sorta like pets to us...  and we just give away eggs to friends and the guy down at the co-op.

Hi moon,
She (the kitty) does look sweet sleeping there, doesn't she? Regarding the spiders--What can I say? I like spiders. Sir Frederick reminds me of a two-toed sloth. I've actually never seen any of his kind move . . . never . . . sometimes I wonder if they're real. The cane spider/ Huntsman Badger, they're harmless . . . well, some cane can pack a mildly painful bite but the Badgers supposedly don't hurt much and I've caught quite a few by hand and have never been bitten--not even when they've been agravated. A friend swears he got a nasty bite from one when he was sleeping--he discovered the bugger the morning after in his room--but I'm thinking he must have rolled over on him to push him to such an action. They grow larger than an average hand size, but I'll let my two go once they're big enough to discourage the lizards from making them their next meal. I'd rather have them on my land then roaches and other pests . . . I just wish they ate centipedes . . .
