I met A LOT of people. Got some more numbers...will call.
It's all got to sink in but it seems to me that it's very simple.
The steps sort of make things black & white instead of gray.
I'm learning a whole new way of thinking - so far, so good - I'm taking it easy, tho.
I'm getting out there and meeting friends, simple stuff. I'm learning how to "make friends" the right way. Just by making it simple. I never learned some of this stuff before now...ACOA. (will post this on the ACOA board, as well).
Even better, I have been able to meditate under the moon for the last few nights - well, under the stars......
Somebody spoke in a meeting about how it true that the body will REALLY get sick from alcohol - it wasn't all in his head.
Well, on one of my episodes, six years ago, I had drunk half a bottle of vodka - (2 liter). Passed out around 2am & woke up with my son around 7 am.
I had vertigo.
It was bad. My parents had to come down & take me to the hospital & take care of my son - I was vomiting & it was horrible.
It only last for a day - & I still drank for six years after that.
Cunning, baffling & powerful.....
My body was trying to tell me something, huh? I should've listened to it....
I love immersing myself in AA as I always feel much more peaceful and closer to my Higher Power then. When I first started with AA it all seemed 'strange' to me. But, after a few super meetings I started to feel that I was 'at home' in the homes and the rest happened naturally.
I loved what you said about meditating under the moon and stars. I often go for long walks in a forest near where I live and that helps me to meditate and to keep focussed.
Thank you for your words about alcohol making the body sick. You have reminded me of just how sick I was, mentally and physically. I needed that reminder today.
Take care of yourself,
Carol
