Vocational Rehabilitation...

Anyone here done vocational rehabilitation? Apparently that's something I'll be doing soon...

So I'm trying to figure out school, and how to get those grants for the disabled... couldn't find anything online. Finally called the university here and asked financial aid about it, they sent me over to the disability center there, and they referred me to tennessee's vocational rehabilitation center.

So I called them, asked what it's all about, basically they said it's to get you back into work, through training or job placement. But it's also to get you ready to go back to school, and if you're going to school to be a psychologist, they sponsor you to go back to school... (this is sounding like they fund your schooling)...

So I gave them my info, they're sending me a letter telling me when my appointment will be, I'll get the letter within the next 2 weeks.

Apparently this is what I have to do to get help going back to school, and I think the rehab will be good for me, as I've been out of school for so long, and also unable to hold a job in a really long time.

My biggest problem with school before was my anxiety and I just stopped going... but for whatever reason my anxiety is getting better, like I can go to different AA meetings where I don't know anyone and not even feel nervous about it, my anxiety doesn't kick in at all. Same thing with going to that church for the first time Sunday, I felt fine, no anxiety. So apparently it's getting better, maybe due to this self-confidence I'm starting to gain lately... I dunno.

But anyway... I'm SOOOOOO excited about going back to school and this rehabilitation thing!

I was having a crappy day, and decided I just had to focus on something good, and that something good was school, so I started the calling around, and it just made my day when I found out for sure there is help for me going back to school! I feel so much better now!

Hi Lisa,

When I read that you are now attending meetings and going to other social things without Anxiety, that was music to my ears.

And ditto Phil, with the Baby Steps, just one little foot in front of the other, and then repeat.

Hugs, and so happy life is changing so much for you,  you are loved, just for who you are, no matter where you are, hope that just made sense.

Love and Hugs,  Toni
