We wake up each morning


Cobwebs in head


Man!! We’re still breathin


When we shoulda been dead


Four cups of coffee


And three smokes on the go


Lighting a fire


And thinkin of snow


It’s 5am


What the hell’s goin on


Should be in bed


Am I sick in the head?


Oh well..up and at it


And onward we go


God..give me a kick


Cause I’m pretty slow


Wishing you all


A great sober day


We all could be drunk


"Be grateful"...we say


So..wake the hell up


Wherever you are


Am I the only one here


Drivin this car?


Used to be that way


Not any more


Lookin up...and sayin


You drive it bud


My ass is too sore


Another surrender


And humble we get


Another day sober


And I’m not better yet...

Jeeze Phil, your mind works funny at that time of day, even poetically!  I'm lucky if mine does anything more than watch the play unfolding before me until I get a couple cups of Earl Grey to it...Tim
