is there an australian based version of this forum?if there is please let me know.i have noticed that there are online meetings on tuesday and saturday at 9 but is that 9 australian time?
Meetings on this site are a US northern time thingy...I have no idea what the time difference is..All I know is that its Daylight....and I think that means...its time to wake up.:)
Used to be a lady on here...a couple years ago..from Australia...I forget her handle...but I do remember her mentioning...an Australian AA site...that was used by her..frequently...

Just popping in to say Welcome to you. I was reading your Post first thing this morning back and forth with Carol. It was so inspirational to see someone reach out for a conversation, and to dialogue with a Member of AA. (Which by the way was in the middle of the night here).
It is now, five minutes to 7:00am. Pacific Standard Time, and I went to my Time Calendar, I thought this might help, Melbourne time, is +10 hours ahead of Pacific Stanard Time, which is the Western half of the U.S. I live in California, so that would make it 5:00pm where you are.
On my PC, I went to the Calendar, and where is shows where the current time is: Pac. Stan.Time, there is a drop down menu and you can see what time it is all around the world, you might even have this feature on you PC.??
I was so happy to see that someone was awake, and available to you, when you came on the Site, this Board is such a great asset to all of us here, it compliments the meetings and reinforces our own Recovery.
So happy you are going back this morning. I also have such a history of in and out, the swinging doors of AA, never ever, ever close. So amazing. I was mentioning in my share the other day, "after relapsing for over ten years", then a woman that spoke shortly after me, said it took her 19 years for her to get in and work the 12 steps. Felt for her, that sounded like so much pain.
But the fact that we are here, in this 24 hours is all that matters.
So Welcome Steve, hope to see so much more of you, and congratulations on saying "No" to the offer of a "friend" , to share his...whatever....you said no Thank You, and that was wonderful to hear.
I just found this site last week when I began my first whole-hearted journey to sobriety. This week has been insanely difficult, and I found the people on this board to be very compassionate and welcoming. Everyone here is so spread out, yet has experience dealing with the same thing.
Hope all is going well and you have been able to make it to a meeting!
thanks to al that have responded its 9:20 am here now and i should be getting picked up soon i really appreciate all the support even though we on different sides of the world it seems to me that the AA attitude is the same everywhere so thanks again and i will converse with you all over time,
