Hi My Friend,

We all did that.  So try not to stay in the feelings of that, it can really do more harm that good.

You stubbled and you fell, stand up, dust yourself off, and start all over again. Just like the song.  Early Recovery and the attempt to stay sober is difficult.  Do you have a Sponsor, and do you go to meetings, that's the best way to deal with this.

A Big Hug, and have watched you trying so so hard, you are in my Prayers, dear.

A Big Hug, Toni

Gorsky has a fantastic book, on Relapse Prevention, that did help me a lot, in the Beginning.

Sobriety, it is always - JUST for today, Trudi, not yesterday, or tomorrow.

There's nothing to be sorry for, Trudi. Like Toni said, you just brush yourself off and start again. Been there, done that, so many times I hate to remember, LOL. Luckily, I did start over again before I died.

As I posted, it's all about experiences. We do what we have to do, and just pray about the outcome. It's about learning from our mistakes. And we all make mistakes, coming to AA didn't make me immune to them. It only made me more aware of them.

Keep coming back, and be good to yourself. Hug, Wren

Hi Trudi,

Please don't beat yourself up, will you? I picked up again after so desperately wanting not to. I beat myself up about it and it didn't help me. But, drinking is what we alcoholics are good at. I'm sure that many of us have done just that in that past. But, I carried on trying not to drink for just one day at a time.

Hang in there and it really well get better. It has for this alcoholic. Please know that you are not on your own.

Take care,

Carol

Hi Trudi...

Yes, I too have been there also, many many many many times... but I came back to meetings, got right back in that old worn-out saddle every time, hoping it was the 'last time'. And today I am ever so grateful I did.

An old timer I know always says, "As long as yer still suckin' air, you got another chance." How true!!

Please stay in touch, Trudi.
