For some odd reason I was allowed another chance to get sober after almost flushing my life down the toilet permanently.
This is familiar territory for me, having six months sober. What isn't familiar is actually working the steps as best as I can.
Life is good today. No complaints from this alchy. I'm going to keep this relatively short. Not much on my mind. Just another successful day, the way I see it!
I hope everyone is doing well today.
I'd just like to thank those of you who have pointed out repeatedly that today is just another day, another 24 hours. Helps me to keep things simple.
And Congratulations on the hard work. I share with you the thoughts of a birthday not being something to celebrate in the usual interrpretation of that word, celebrate. I just have seen all the growth in you, one day at a time, and am so happy you are here with us, and sharing openly, all the work you have done, on the "how to's" of this Process of working the Steps.
I am glad you have made it to six months, and more importantly, you have made it through a few rough 24 hours.
The way I see it, you have gotten this far by going to AA meetings regularly, using your sponsor and working the Steps... correct? Just like they promised us!!
You are a good example of HOW it WORKS.
Keep coming back, Justin, and you are indeed very much loved here on MIP.
