Dreaded morning to great morning!

I had posted earlier on another thread how I was sort of dreading to go and do a task today.  I had to alter a bathroom vanity I had made for the kinda-in-laws (I say KIL because their daughter and I have been together for over 5 yrs. and haven't married.) and doing the work there, any work, can be a pain.  Her dad is 89 and I love him dearly and do all I can for them freebies, but he has this tendency to watch over my shoulder and give unneeded advise and directions.  I was anxious over it.  As it worked out I was able to bring the unit to my place to do the work.  Whew!  So all I needed was a good attitude adjustment that I got from Quetzal/Carol's post this morning and a little faith that everything would work out EXACTLY as it should.  Thank you once again Carol.

And thank you all!  I'm soooo grateful that I came to this board.  You really are a great Group Of Drunks and I get encouragement and fortitude from EVERY posting...Tim

Isn't it funny, Tim, how we still seem to think 'inside the box' when God doesn't even use a box....??? LOL

I am just amazed every day at all the assumptions I make every day about how things are going to go. If I could just get rid of that, I'd really be in good shape, I think!!

Glad things ended up more relaxed and 'at-your-own-pace', there at home.

Hi Tim,

I'm so glad that your 'dreaded' morning turned into a great one for you!

And, yes, this is a great board, isn't it? I'm so glad that I have found it, too. It really adds a quality to my sobriety in between my meetings. We are lucky to have found it and each other.

Take care,

Carol

Hi Tim,

Reminds me of the Song "A t i c a p a t i o n".  I think the next line is "Driving me c r a z y"

haha.

Had a similiar experience, this morning,  had a 4 hour Dental Appt. and right in the middle of getting dressed, out of no where, comes this Anxiety....big time.  Drove there doing some deep slow deep breathing, and in 10 minutes, had a warm blanket over me, the office is cold enough to hang meat in, and earphones on with Enya, full blast, and two very warm and gentle people  taking care of me, I laughed and said, all I need now is a bottle, haha, (as in baby bottle, just so you know).  My mind went back briefly to that little panic inside from a hour before, and just wonder, "Why do I do that to myself?"

Just let life flow like a little stream of water, that seems to make more sense, for that is what is really going on, sometimes I like to quiet the mind, with watching the hands of a clock, Steady slow rythum to that.

We are alkes, and our wiring is diffenent, that is something I do accept, some of the places in the brain where the wires are tangled up.  That's how I look at it, and just go with it.

So I am happy to see that you got the cabinet to you house, and that you have the freedom to do it, without someone over your shoulder, making suggestions.

We are happy you are here with us too, and enjoy all that you write.

Toodles, Toni

Hahaha... this post has really made me smile tonight. Good stuff, tim, and thank you for freely sharing it!!

Toni, I have often wondered why medical rooms are kept like meat-lockers...??? I liked that reference you made. I think the brain slows down when you are FREEZING COLD... so if you 'fall out', they have longer to try and revive you... LOL

OOps.. please don't take that thought with you to your next appointment!!!

Laugh my a--- off, that was a good one Joni, like take the body straight to the cold Morgue, haha,  never thought of it that way.

I am sure is has to do with keeping bacterial alive at that temp. at least that is my take, not sure about anything really.

Next time I go, I will ask them about what you said, HaHa.  They do have a great sense of humor too.

The mere thought of the dentist sends me into a panic attack!  I am looooong overdue for a cleaning.  Probably need wisdom teeth pulled and a few cavities filled.  *sigh*

Anyway, glad things turned out well for the KIL situation.  That's cute---Kinda-In-Laws.  KIL.  KILL.  LOL!  Thanks for the giggle.
