Just really some humor here............ last night, I had just finished cooking Scapi, and a great Salad, for my Son, that was arriving at 7:00. Just before 7:00, this young guy Richard, came by to look at an area, where I need it to be fenced off. We were talking about the fence and 3 other items, I wanted him to do, and then my Son arrived. I introduced them, then was trying to say hi, to my Son, was saying good-bye to Richard, with my dinner, maybe over-cooking on the stove. And then with way too many active things going on, in this little head of mine, rushed into my house, I had left the screen door open, my Son had closed it, and when I turned to return to the inside of my house, WAM, down I went head-first, taking the screen door with me, haha, sort of.
Skinned my knee, then I had to stop the dinner, go into the bathroom, get out the gause and the Betondine, and tape, and repair the 2 x 3' boo boo, on my knee.
Moral of the Story, don't let thing get you, if you Cannot Muti-Task, then Don't try to Multi-Task.
As I was sitting on the bathtub edge, knee over toilet so the Betadine would not run all over the place, I was kind of chuckling inside, thought to myself, hummm, I have a Doctor fixing my boo, boo, in my House, what service, eh?
he must have asked me 100 times, are you o.k. Mom? He saw the fall that must have looked like a Lucy re-run, sometimes when I multi task, I can take on Lucy features Big Time.
HaHa,
P.S. yes, I did break the wheels on the sliding screen door, thank God for Home Depot.
I do hope you are OK!!! And yes, you had an Angel-Doctor there by your side... you two are so very lucky to have eachother. Wish I could be there to 'fuss' over you!!!!!! I am good at 'fussing'..lol.
I think I too have Post Acute Withdrawal... and Lucy-ism... LOL all rolled into one. You shopuld see me banging myself up constantly. I always have bruises somewhere on my body... my husband says, "What are you DOING to yourself all day!!!???" My answer: "Running INTO things, DUHHH!!!!"
So if it makes you feel any better, I am right there with ya', Toni. Be good to yourself and keep the knee elevated and cold. I like to use frozen peas for ice-packs. The cinsistency is nice for that, I've found.... ramble ramble... here I go... if I don't get into this nursing school they are CRAZY... they just don't know what they'd be MISSING, do they!!! LOLOL
