3 months ago to the day, I went to a hospital in the area and told them that I was an alcoholic.  I told them about my seizure disorder and said that if they felt I needed to be admitted, I would go willingly, but I wanted to get sober.  I remember that day so very well.  I sat there in tears and just so scared of what was going to happen.  After talking with the doc, the lady came back and said they wanted to admit me right away....moments later, I was in the ward, ready to start the process...

I cried so much that week!  I went to all of my groups, but wow, it was hard to do!  They put me on valium to avoid more seizures.  After a week, I was discharged and sent to an intensive outpatient program for a month.  After that, I was armed with AA (which was mandatory in the program) and a desire to stay sober.

Wow....seems like years ago in some senses.  No one mentioned my little anniversary today, but I wondered if they would.  It was a big deal to me, but I understand that others might not have realized it was.

Congrats on 3 months!!!!  At the meetings I attend they always ask if there are any sobriety birthdays and I ALWAYS make sure to say if it is one for me!!!!

Congratulations on three months of sobriety! That is really fantastic. I think that I would have been so tempted to share it at a meeting that you wouldn't have been able to stop me! But, you have a great milestone under your belt and that's what matters.

Well done and keep on doing what you're doing!

Take care and have a super day,

Carol
