I haven't been to a f2f meeting yet.  Guess I've been scared.  I printed off a list of all the meetings in my area and drove by one on my way home today.  It was at an old church out in the country and all the folks were gathered at a picnic table under a big ol' tree.  It looked nice.

This board has been really helpful to me and I think I'm off to a good start.  If I can get my nerve up I'm going to hit a meeting this weekend.  It was hard enough admitting that I'm an alcoholic in cyberspace but in front of people - yikes!!  :)

Take care all.

I can tell you they'll be glad to see you. A few meetings, youll feel comfortable, every one of them was new once, most of them, in fact, probably saw their first meeting shaking and sweating, wild eyed and slap your mamma crazy.

(slap yo mamma crazy- that's somewhere between kick yer dog crazy and plain ol drive off in the damn bar ditch crazy.)

Hi Happy,

For this alcoholic, I was petrified of going to my first AA meeting. I didn't know what to expect, what happened or what the other people would be like. I really panicked about it all day long. But, when I got there I found that they are some of the loveliest people that I will ever meet. Now, I really enjoy my meetings. I'm off to one this evening and it'll be good to be there.

I get so much support from this wonderful board, but I know that I need to keep going to my face-to-face meetings to keep sober. I hope that you will have a really great meeting. Please let us know how it goes, won't you?

Take care,

Carol
