Twenty-Four Hours A Day

A.A. Thought For The Day

Psychologists are turning to religion because just knowing about
ourselves is not enough. We need the added dynamic of faith in a
power outside of ourselves on which we can rely. Books on psychology
and psychiatric treatments are not enough without the strength that
comes from faith in God. And clergy and rabbis are turning to
psychology because faith is an act of the mind and will. Religion must
be presented in psychological terms to some extent in order to satisfy
the modern person. Faith must be built largely on our own
psychological experience. Have I taken what I need from both
psychology and religion when I live the A.A. way?

Meditation For The Day

Refilling with the spirit is something you need every day. For this
refilling with the spirit, you need these times of quiet communion,
away, alone, without noise, without activity. You need this dwelling
apart, this shutting yourself away in the very secret place of your
being, away alone with your Maker. >From these times of communion
you come forth with new power. This refilling is the best preparation
for effective work. When you are spiritually filled, there is no work
too hard for you.

Prayer For The Day

I pray that I may be daily refilled with the right spirit. I pray that I
may be full of the joy of true living.

This is such a very beautiful meditation, Tonibee...

One that I should read often. I am continuing day by day on the path of Step 11, day by day growing toward an ideal. Some days I am more in touch than others, but I acknowledge that it is, like all things spiritual, a process...

Thank you for reminding me today of this beautiful and enlightening process that I have committed to, one day at a time.

Hugs!!

Good morning Phil and Joni,

Phil, I am just "Putting up with my "acting out PC" don't want to even look into buying new one yet, am looking for a "knowledgable Tech" but not easy to find. Someone that just freelances, not the Big Guns that mean $$$$$$$$$$$

Just for Today, it is working, dysfunctionally, but managing to get on MIP, for today,

Joni, I also loved that 24 Hour Book Today,  am sending a copy off to my Pychiatrist Son, that claims he is an Atheist, Agnostic, but the contradiction is that he is one of the most kind, loving and "spiritual" people I know.  On Second thought, having said that, I will NOT be sending this to him.   If it aint Broken, why try to fix it, eh?

Phil, I have that EH? stuff down.  use it all the time, haha.

baloney brains, doing the best she can do, just for today.

Hi Toni,

This morning I went for a beautiful long walk along a footpath and onto farm land. I didn't pass a single person and I felt so much closer to my HP. Your post has reminded me that I need to do this so much more. Thank you for that.

Have a great day,

Carol
